I looked for a paragraph stating that the Commission had looked in to the effect that the decision would have on 37,000 people who had bought and paid for their tickets for the Semi-final at Wembley. I could find no reference to it so I guess they didn't consider that it was important.

Problem is that Tonda is actually a victim of his success.

Even 4-5 weeks before the end of the normal season we would have wanted him to stay if we had finished 7th. He changed us and we are a different team entirely to the one he took over. The fact that we kept winning and almost got the autos has now made it worse.

Those that don’t want him, if we had finished 7th, subsequently got found out and docked 4 points for next year would you still be in uproar at keeping Jo on?
What we don’t know is whether Tonda wants to stay with us.

I don’t have a problem with the statement including the line about how the panel included two members who had some connection to Middlesbrough.
In fact I think that should be shouted from the rooftops if only to muddy the waters and make those people, who already think the punishment is too harsh, start asking questions about how the decision was reached.
You are not allowed to sit on a jury if you have any connections with the plaintiff or the accused so why should this be any different? And although the case was the EFL v Southampton FC, we all know that the true plaintiff was Middlesbrough FC, with the EFL acting as their proxy.
The way I see it, it was made clear that even if we gained nothing from the spying we were guilty of being in the wrong place and getting caught.
I think the same standards should have been applied to the not so independent panel. Having two members who had some connection to Middlesbrough doesn’t mean that they were guilty of bias, BUT it does raise the question that they might have been, and because of that they shouldn’t have been there.

I think mentioning it in the statement is a way of reminding the EFL that they have questions to answer too, specifically as to whether or not they have achieved their objectives via foul play, by allowing potentially biased panellists to adjudicate on our punishment.

Has there been any announced time schedule for FA statement/ decision? The longer it gets strung out the more difficult for us to act / plan.
If the club want to,keep Tonda and the FA really want to hurt us , they will delay the decision until as late as possible .

In that case it’s lose lose for us .

Given that they have yet to complete their investigation into Liverpool accessing Man City's scouting database from 2013, as reported in 2019, i would imagine it will be around 15 years.

(sorry typo, meant commence not complete)

That’s what worries me. I know it’s only media talk or even just fans putting 2 & 2 together but if we are actually looking to go after the football hierarchy they might just band together & make it harder for us just by delaying everything until the season starts. Ban TE then & we’ll be well & truly ****ed.

BBC just posted. If all correct (?) very damming & can’t see TE getting out of this.
There’s nothing new in this. Still a pearl clutching, think of the children, beat up over the purity and integrity of the game which has neither. They went there looking to see if hackney was training FFS. Stupid but bloody minor. If he isn’t banned I’ll be pissed off if we sack him.
