Ahhh please no, I don’t want Parker at all. Boring football and never gonna be cut out to manage at top level for me.

I’d honestly us rather stick with Tonda then him get banned day before season starts, so have to try with Lallana and snap up Farke when he eventually gets sacked next season than have Parker anywhere near the helm lol
I agree. I’d rather have someone who we‘ve never heard of rather than the same names that get trotted out. Fingers crossed Spors can find a another gem (if he’s not banned). Although I want Saints to fight hard to keep Tonda.

Parker is hardly somebody who's been round the houses failing everywhere though.

He's managed 3 full seasons in the championship and won automatic promotion in all of them.

The club is in a bit of a mess at the moment and making an appointment like that would really steady things.

That sounds like the details I wanted in the first place. Probably one for tomorrow now though.

It's an interesting read. Naturally the "headline" stuff was in the earlier abridged version, but this full version does add meat to the bones.

I just can't believe that neither Parsons nor Tonda have not even been suspended, as a minimum. (At least to our knowledge.)

But not kept them up. He might get us up but what happens next? We get an ‘honorable’ 18th or 19th place.

I have felt like Saints are laying the groundwork for keeping Eckert so long as there was no proof of any actual bullying and/or a substantial FA ban. Obviously no way of knowing what will happen with the FA as they're hard to predict, but having read those 39 pages I don't think there's any evidence of bullying within the scope of the report which would warrant a dismissal

Problem is that Tonda is actually a victim of his success.

Even 4-5 weeks before the end of the normal season we would have wanted him to stay if we had finished 7th. He changed us and we are a different team entirely to the one he took over. The fact that we kept winning and almost got the autos has now made it worse.

Those that don’t want him, if we had finished 7th, subsequently got found out and docked 4 points for next year would you still be in uproar at keeping Jo on?

Oh and while I'm at the stage of hating the world and everyone in it, the bloke who "independently" chaired our appeal seems lovely.

As a high court judge him and his Mrs moved in to a property next to a Chinese restaurant which had been there 20 odd years. He then complained to the council and got them taken to court over the noise of the extractor fan and because of the smell.

Nice chap.

If we went for him now I reckon he would. We're the only parachute payment team where it's feasible.

We won't though and Brum seems a decent shout.

Tbh I don’t think we’re attractive at all atm, obviously the -4 and Spygate stuff.

But also likely to have huge player turnover and a significant downgrade in budget to work with. You’d imagine Parker could walk into most Champ jobs so I don’t think he’d be jumping at coming here right now.

Honestly I think you worry about that when you get there. If Tonda gets banned not long before the season and we have to go into panic mode we'll probably end up 18th in this league.

Also it's fair to say that everyone was saying the same about Farke not long ago.

I would love us to be in the "what happens next" scenario - because that means that we've promoted. Right now though, I give us very little chance of that.

Lets worry about who managers us in the PL if and when we get back there.

For the Championship, Parker is clearly the outstanding available manager. And unlike most other options, we don't need to concerned about Burnley being a more tempting option.

They said the same about Farke. Will get you promoted but won’t keep you up.

Maybe managers need to sometimes experience failed campaigns in order to learn from their mistakes and improve.

I don’t think there are any saying sack him because of his record. It’s more that a ban seems very likely to me and I don’t want to risk him getting that ban just before the season starts. We need to be proactive about it.

There is of course every chance that the club know that a ban is off the table so that’s why they’re carrying on, but from what we know atm I think a ban is coming

It's clearly obvious that a lot of the EFL evidence had been deliberately leaked to the Press while the inquest was in progress, in a Court of Law I would expect that to be deemed inadmissible? The EFL had built up a case using many incidents that had no real relevance to this specific case. They had clearly formed their opinions very early and were never going to change their minds, whatever defence the Saints put up, but our case was so weak they didn't need any help.

Not quite everyone. But, yes, I didn't exactly have much support when I was rating Farke and wasn't worried about his PL experiences with Norwich.

For me it's less about what he did and more about the fact I think a ban is incredibly likely and everything leading up to that is going to feel slightly up in the air.

It then turns into even more chaos if he is banned late in the day and we're in crisis mode two weeks before the season starts.

Yes sorry shouldn't have said everyone but the point is valid as you and others have said.

Anyway out of those 3 PL seasons, in one he was sacked before the end of August so can't really say he had a proper crack and nobody was keeping that Burnley side up this season just gone. Must admit I can't recall much about his Fulham team.

Also there's always the option of making a change after promotion.
