If only they were this reactive a few weeks ago, they could have perhaps got Alonso to take the reigns.

Iraola or Glasner heading there then
Might not have wanted him, mate. Or Alonso might not have wanted them.

He'd have known Slot was for the chop and if he wanted it he only had to wait a few weeks but he's chosen Chelsea. Either he knew that they didn't want him or he didn't want to go to Liverpool and they knew it.

Well maybe he had to go. But who decided on who was bought on that manic, indulgent spending spree?

Slot made it as clear as possible that he wanted Guehi last summer, even if they had to pay a reasonable fee. It was a massive miss, with them being too clever by half, thinking the player would just wait it out until Liverpool were ready. They didn't know much about Guehi if they thought that.

Richard Hughes and Michael Edwards, (the latter brought back to much fanfare) enjoyed being photographed together and being the subject of articles while this vast summer splurge went on. So did they decide on these players of whom only Ekitike has really shown up as a really top end player? Isakk will if he gets fit, but......

They can both boast a really good record in finding players, but more often at a lower prices, and often lesser known ones.

That said, Liverpool looked laborious for most of the season, and were towards the end of last, so maybe it's a mix of Slot running the last steam out of a few players, and his natural, more cautious, possession based Dutch football that did for him.

But they have the right man now I'd say, if Iraola turns up there.

hes staying, the owners love him and want to him to stay

he has said sorry,
Big error by Southampton.

His "apology" was incomplete, insincere and very, very late. He looked and sounded like a hostage reading out a message written by his kidnappers.

I hope he's ready for questions about cheating. As he is going to get them every week, at every ground they visit .

Looks like Iraola is set for Liverpool, deal agreed apparently.
Good luck to him. He's a good coach.

He'll need it there if he tries to play the way Bournemouth played with that Liverpool squad. His team's do a LOT of running, and need a fast defence.

They've just sacked a bloke who won their second title in over thirty years. They've got the taste for sacking now, and if Iraola starts as slowly as he did at Bournemouth, the mob will be after him.
