Thomas Tuchel admits he HASN'T picked England's '26 most talented players' for the World Cup and axed big names including Harry Maguire to have an 'unselfish' team

I thought Bowen, Foden and Wharton would have made it.

The big questions are what is it Dan
Burn has on Tuchel to get selected and will Trump sanction the world when the USA get knocked out!!

On a positive, Harry Kane is going to this World Cup fully fit and playing the best football of his life. A hatrick today in the German cup final, after a hattrick last week after an absurd number of goals this season.

Beware of the fat blonde idiot in the White House as I have this feeling that he will do several things to disrupt the World Cup, just because he can and because he's Herr Donald Trump. Travel from venue to venue could be seriously affected due to all major U.S. airlines are reucing the number of destinations they serve due to the excessive cost of aviation fuel. Airport security and baggage checks will slow down in a major way especially at cities with a Democratic Governor (retribution for all the criminal lawyers and Democrats who were close to locking him up) so that single fact may make you want to check where the most security causes problems. Even worse is the thought that Democratic cities will have their airport guarded by most of the criminals that were put away on sedition charges after the Jan 6th riots at the Capitol and to add flavour they will be armed to the teeth and very aggressive. :steam:

I can’t see us doing very well this time, as John says, it seems a bit B team ish to me.

He’s left himself wide open for criticism if we don’t do well due to the quality he’s left behind. I can see it getting toxic, I hope I’m proved wrong

What’s well?? See England in the second round quarters to semi finals.

I can understand Tuchel’s thinking!
At the end of the day, we’ve had managers who have shoehorned players into the side purely on the basis that they were quality players.
Now we have someone who is trying to do what so many armchair/keyboard critics have been asking for and he gets stick for it!

As usual, only time will tell.

I posted earlier in this thread that I expected Trump to stick in his evil nose to affect the smooth running of the World Cup and today the announcement arrived on the doorstep. All of the main airports being used as World Cup gateways just happen to be primarily in Democratic held territory and Trump will not allow international flights to be cleared by Department of Homeland Security at any of those venues. That means that about 85% of airports to be used will be off limits for international clearance but there's a chance that may be changed knowing Trump's devious evil mind. This mainly is a retribution for all Democratic governors and mayors who offered safe havens to all refugees fleeing Trump's carte blanche credo to rid the country of all the unwanted refugees in a brutal crackdown. Infantino has a lot to answer for as I think he may have gone overboard with his peace medal or whatever the gong was called as the closeness of the big kick-off gets nearer and uncertainty is clearly showing it's ugly side with room bookings being almost invisible and now if you add in the question of transportation availability it just adds to the mayhem created solely by some idiot in the White House who doesn't even know the game of football, or anything else for that matter. :headbang:<steam>:headbang:
