Tonda's future at the club

I originally voted for keeping him under probation. But now I think that if we don`t sack him, we should back him 100% without any caveats or conditions. Assuming he doesn`t get banned somehow!
He (and us) have been punished enough.
Sure, he`s made a monumental error of judgement regarding spying.
But he`s young and will have learned the hard way. He`s hungry and driven. He got the best out of our squad.
I think he will be even more determined to make amends and bring success, and I want that to be with us.

Of course we are coming full circle, elevating him to religious status and embracing the hatred just in time for the 36 month ban to be announced and a rushed club statement saying that his position was considered untenable for a while and we meant to put this out a couple of days ago but forgot to hit send. We never get what we want.

it's kind of how the silence was implying it to be - they are waiting on the FA to tip the scales - if they do.

if the club are prepared to back him then the team has to be too (or at least enough of a majority) and it likely also implies Spors / Parsons are not going anywhere either

Yeah, I think that unless Tonda gets a ban from all football activities the club are going to work through some things. If the players are behind him, and changes are made above him in the club, I could see them sticking with him.

Where there is no loyalty left in the game, it’s quite refreshing to hear they’re gonna give someone who’s made a mistake another chance & if he doesn’t get the FA ban and does take us back to the top tier, then you’d like to think he’d show loyalty back if someone wanted to poach him. This is essentially the making of his career if they give him this opportunity after such a huge, global media scandal

Also, it leads the example to any players thinking they’re bigger than the club. Could be massive in changing the culture of us letting players leave whenever they feel like it. Risky but if this pays off, it will really pay off imo

I don't think Spors will go as he wasn't implicated but Parsons has to go.

If the board want to back Tonda, then I`d like to see them backing him in the press and making a case for him now. A charm offensive aimed at the FA, much in the same way that Gibson did for the EFL.

Saints are not hated. Media went over the top for headlines, but most people were shocked by the punishment and couldn’t see how Boro deserved to be in final after being beaten over two legs. There will be banter next season…we have to take it and then give some back.

I propose we play ‘We are watching you’ as our new anthem

And instead of the slogan ‘We March On’, we should have, ‘Shaken, not Stirred’.

How about 'Oh when The Saints go Spying On'?

I wonder if the FA will cotton on to the fact that a lot of their own members, supporters and players were punished that were totally innocent of any wrong doing?
