I expect they are at least exploring whether there is any case for a legal challenge. They wouldnt want to confirm this with a statement as if they ultimately decided not to pursue a legal route after raising the idea, it will only piss fans off more.

The thing is, with no football, unless you count The Champions' League Final and the Trump Cup, us fans/keyboard warriors have a lot of time on our hands, and nothing much to argue/bitch/pontificate about. We may have a few transfer rumours, both in and out, but we're basically all waiting for The FA to creak into action, and to come to a decision that will please no-one.
There's a fair amount of inter-team spying going on in that sport. Maybe Saints should send its interns to Grand Prix venues, dressed as mechanics
