Congratulations again to Arlyman, more in the review, but first MD38.
This weeks top spot to Ozzy, his first of the season. From looking at relegation for much of the early stages, his progress has been a slow but consistent move up the table, and this final top spot – in his own words on the announcement thread – he went “Til the End”
We had 5 guest scores on the first one, Daydream, Drum, Gelders,Rooch and Snaggey, and on the second guest, Ozz,y and also Daydream who completed a rare guest double.
May Manager of the Month Snaggey 45 points
May Goal of the Month Snaggey 2 guests and 5 correct
Safc Young player for May Gil 2 scores and 3 results
Arlyman takes the accolades for a brilliant season, becoming, as far as I am aware, the first ever to retain the title. This as a new entrant to the league, hopefully sets a similar course for Safc.
Having risen to Ist place on MD 10, he held everyone at arms left, bar just one week when he gave Snaggey a 2pt sniff at being top. Sheer consistency saw him through to the end, and was on a 16 match unbeaten streak until a last day uncharacteristic 3 pts—was he already ‘’on the beach’’ and confident he’d done enough ? If he’s top next October, might take his predictions to William Hill.!
Riever took the most weekly wins with 5, 6 players (won’t name ) never got one.
Top week score was a 21 by Snaggey, the only time 20 + was achieved.
LBW remained unbeaten from the start for the longest, 13 games, whilst Botn ended the season 16 unbeaten. Both achieved the longest win sequence of 6 during these runs.
Looks like we are improving !! Although still struggling with the guests.
AWARDS
Manager of the Year Arlyman. For consistency and retention of a title.
Goal of the Year Oliver Many exceeded his correct score total , but it’s the highes number of guests (5) that makes the goal a winner
Safc Young Player of the Year Whitty 6 of our scores correct,, 19 results.
Gil is this years holder of the MrRAWhite Memorial Cup
Cumbrian Cup, retained by Cumbrian, closely competed again with Rooch, always entertaining.
Snaggey's disappointment of such a close second is consolated by being top of the doubles- ( not unexpected as the random draw happened to put together the two who would finish 1st & 2nd)
……… and also compensated by
And so , I can’t believe the season has gone already. But we have a summer to re-live and come to believe what has happened …. and to know the mags are squirming and hiding.
Europe to look forward to, I’ll try to set up a separate Euro format for us.
As always, a huge thankyou to our Head Checkeriser, Mr Armstrong, I’m sure you’ll agree he did a splendid job covering those games whilst I was literally ‘’on the beach’’
Finally , ‘’have you had a good afternoon ?” “ I can’t hear you !”
