Not sure who owned it before (Brent Council?) but the FA bought the stadium and they did the modernisation, getting rid of the iconic twin towers and replacing it with the arch, cost loads of money. I wonder if they either didn't think to buy the parking or bought it then sold it off.
They’d have got a lot more for their money in Birmingham than North London.

They both need to be trained and told to vary their delivery with each foot. Bowen used to be very one-footed but became even more dangerous when he started to use both. That was the beauty of Yu’s cross. He toyed with them with his right, then delivered with his left. I’d really like to see us try to sign him. Wouldn’t cost a huge amount and he’s already proved his worth and could probs do the same in the Prem too.
You know what he's going to do but on the occasions he gets it right, it's so hard, near impossible, for a RB to defend against.
He toys with the RB, then goes onto his left but cuts the ball back a little bit away from the RB immediately before the cross right into the danger area around the edge of the baby box. It shows perfectly how simple it can be, and doesn't need over complicating it. And McB and others know where to be, they 'just' have to time their run. Keepers don't know whether to come for it or leave it for CB's. Their's chose to go for it and made a hash. Executed to near perfection by Yu. At times football is best kept simple.

Found this interesting piece about the history of Wembley.

Notable things from it
Entrepreneur Arthur Elvin got the ball rolling way back.
Wembley stadium Ltd got new owners in the 70s... But oddly no details.
Doesn't say exactly when the FA bought it but it must have been around 2000 by what is said. It does say that what the FA bought included land that they didn't want and that was sold to property developers.

A bit off topic.

It was incredibly hot...Their lot where in the shade for most of the match, whereas the City end had no protection at all. Overall, I thought the atmosphere from our fans was great. But God was it tense. At times I didn't know if I wanted a sh!t, shave or a haircut. I was dreading pens, we all were. Thank God we got the winner and the relief came pouring out of everyone.
Weirdly I wasn’t dreading penalties at all.
Pretty confident of us winning on pens if needed.

there's no way the away fans are moving - 1 safety perspective and location of coaches 2 they wont put them behind the north stand goal and have our 'kop' where the away fans are now - been there done that - even more fans having to walk all the way around the stadium to get to their cars 3. they certainly wont put them in west upper just above hospitality, directors and owners suites - Rovers fans lobbing bottles down proved that
boo hiss. **** the moneyed types. stick em up there out of the way

I feel for your lad,it sounds as if there's very little come and go in his relationship and that's not a good start going forward. She's basically deprived him of a day in his life he's never going to be able to get back or recall,he's never going to be able to say to his kids or grandkids "I was there, what an achievement, what a day" and that's just wrong.

The next thing you know, she'll be demanding a big flash wedding on her terms and 6 months later it'll be all over...

I'm not being misogynistic here as I believe a relationship is a two way thing and both persons involved should understand each other's desires and accommodate them 'where possible'.I have 3 Daughters (and a Son) and if any of them had done what the lass did to your son, they'd have been told in no uncertain terms of my disapproval towards their stubbornness and been told to respect their partner a bit more than has happened in this case.

Maybe I'm just lucky in that I have a wife who I've been with for 48 years who has never stood in my way and she has a husband who takes a similar stance.

I genuinely feel for his situation, she shouldn't have done that to him,it's wrong on so many levels.

Look after him,he's yours and she can never take that away from him :emoticon-0148-yes:
When it comes to dealing with the ladies I would default to seeking advice from Rerver.
Sounds like he has had more than his share over the years.

We are still struggling as a fan base. The reality is that time and time again we destroy our home singing section by forced moves.
We don’t have an ultras style supporters group.
There needs to be a young and dynamic section of support that is semi organised and that does not revolve around and violence.
It was great talking to young supporters before and after the game who were at Wembley for the first time as adults.
Their passion and enthusiasm was fantastic and it was infectious.
We say we hate drummers, but it worked for Boro.
I hate smoke but it worked for Boro.
I also hate manufactured chants. And the ****e stuff we still do at the MKN such as the “It’s a Corner” and the stand introduction.
We need to bring something Hull to the games and I don’t mean the moaning bit.

Atmosphere? Years of failure still haunt many City fans and that apathy is still present to this day.

Loud, loyal intimidating support whilst rare these days is something that’s been handed down..not purchased.

Nevertheless ..Brilliant season lads against all the odds.

Speaking to a Boro fan afterwards, and he said lots of kids with their parents attend their matches. Whatever Acun is he's not daft enough to lose this, and the next, generation of fans. :emoticon-0138-think

It's our time.

Cheers Ric. Thanks for the lovely post. To be fair he’s done well up to this season. Yeovil away promotion game as a young boy, other promotion games, and every other Wembley appearance. I also lent him my Now TV login so he went out into the reception car park to watch the last few minutes and caught McBurnie’s goal — security guards came running over thinking he’d had a heart attack!
