losing Shankland will be good for Hearts, Bloom will pull a much better prospect for them

for Sevco it feels a few years too late, the kebabs usually start to catch up with scottish 31yos, their CF Chermiti is already their best player by a mile so if they sell him and go with Shankland its a big downgrade, I doubt Shankland is leaving being the main man at Hearts to be a super sub at Sevco, but he is a ******ed hun so you never know

this looks like an appeasing the horde move by the yanks more than anything strategic

^^^^ thar she blows, folks

We live in a world now where expected goals are somehow valued higher than actual goals <yikes>

There was a table of the English championship going around the other day, was done by xG and had Hull finishing 23rd and getting relegated, but in the real world they won the play offs and got promoted to the Prem, thats how useful xG is <cheers>

well an expected goals table wouldnt make any sense considering tables are ranked on points, not goals

expected points table would be more useful

I assume they went through every game and awarded the win to the team with the higher xG?

So throughout the season they have obviously had very low xG in games, but doesn’t that just prove how pointless it is?

link it

expected points is 3 x (probability of win) + 1 x (probability of draw) based on the xG

its not awarding 3 points to the team with the highest xG

example with the latest new firm

Celtic 1.08 - 0.92 Sevco

probabilities

Celtic 39%
Draw 31%
Sevco 30%

expected points

Celtic (3 x 0.39) + 0.31 = 1.48
Sevco (3 x 0.3) + 0.31 = 1.21
