He jumped off when we missed play offs and wants to get involved again 24 months later. Whatever the reason, a sponsor that significant who is happy to jump on and off is a concern.

Really don't want to start an argument but we don't know why the initial deal stopped other than it did, coincidentally we just missed out on the play-offs.

Some are thinking he's going to get back on board now we are in the Premier league TWT.

I'm sure we will have many suitors now offering money for sponsorship, that's business and we've just moved up to the big league.

I'm not either and he could join and stay for ten years. All I was commenting on something that factually happened and the risk if it happened again. That's all.

It did seem a bit flaky but he’s obviously been following us with acun since the deal ended so must have some vested interest.

You’d have to play it that if we’re in the premier league he may be willing to put some money in through sponsorship, but go down and they’d pull sponsorship again. I wouldn’t have thought in the premier league at any time, it would be difficult to get a lucrative sponsorship deal

I personally like the 'ultras' that boro and palace do

Its not hooliganism

but some people prefer the more dynamic atmosphere that happens in big games

Do think though in a lot of games, having some groups organising singing helps massively
Involves allocating a section of the stadium - usuall the cheapest seats behind the goals at an angle and then expectations of standing, disrupted views due to flags/banners and not booing/complaining about the home team - shift in attitude and not really for those that want to watch the game uninterrupted and analyse. Also involves prioritising the group for tickets and there will be many older fans who've been going decades who will be unhappy that their away tickets are being allocated to a special group. There's always going to be someone who loses out and is unhappy about it, especially as the mkm has been near selling out now for a couple of seasons.

Don’t like Boro but wish we were like their fans at times. Unfortunately can’t reply to this eejit.

You must log in or register to see media
I probably spoke to 4 or 5 people who canned it due to the uncertainty and then by the time it was go ahead for sure, their decision had been made.

Boro on the other hand had all the excitement of a second bite at the cherry and a short turn around.

Still, like it means anything now. Maybe we can loan them Destan if they need a striker

I would just like to say that it's great to see City back in the Premier League but I cannot celebrate as, well basically I'm a fraud. I don't go to the MKM, I don't pay my money, basically I'm still stuck in the Boothferry Park era. Yes I am on this forum but don't post on matches played, I am not entitled. Most of my information comes from this forum, as for the national press I gave up on them a long time ago. I read many comments, especially about redevelopements, and by far the biggest put downs of the city are in the HDM. Well I did read them but now I get a request to pay so no HDM.

Anything that brings good news about Hull interests me, and both Hull RFC and Hull KR have done that recently, glad the football side of things have returned the compliment. On Breakfast Time the other day there a brilliant, well for the BBC, documentary about Hull, but I was sceptical. In fact it was one of the best presented programmes that I have seen for a long time. Touching on stories about Artic Corsair and the Humber Light ship. we saw inside the new, when it's finished, whaling museum. All good stuff I'm glad to say.

Anyway back to football and congratulations to all involved in the promotion, I won't be at the KCom, MKM or whatever it is these days. But I will still follow them as I have done since 1957/58 season. So well done all of you who still go, religously in some cases, I experienced that thrill many a time as we waited outside the old YEB building on Ferensway at 11pm on a Friday night to take us to far away places like Ipswitch and London. Enjoy the ride in the Premiership, lets hope they do themselves justice.

With regards to the atmosphere I thought it was pretty good on the whole. I couldn't really hear Boro but I'm sure them likewise with us. As others have said noise just doesn't travel well at Wembley at all.

I thought the loudest they were was singing about Hayden Hackney when he came on. They also needed to use a drum to try and create an atmosphere (which they also do at the Riverside) which is one of my pet hates.

Not necessarily. Coming down from the premier league and in receipt of power shoot payments you’d have to be one of the favourites to go straight back up, even more so with the new financial rules. There would still be a lot of global interest and exposure in Hull City, far more than a typical championship club.

Slim chance .... but .... there was a young Scottish lad around that age next to me at the game. Longish dark hair. 516 near front. I thought he had family to his left side, like I had to my right, but only very late on did I realise he was there on his own.
McB scored, all go mental of course. He offers me a high five, but I counter with a proper full on 'stranger man hug'.
Full time whistle goes, the emotion really got to me . Hand on my shoulder. Nice touch from a young man to this old(ish) man having a moment.
After the sing song, we shake hands and wish each other a great night.
Felt bad later not finding out his story. Hope he's reading.
What a brilliant day it was. Up there with 2008.
He might be the one who Ric mentioned? On the coach back to Glasgow.

Apologies. I've just got out of bed :)

Agree. All I ever heard was that **** cheesey drumming. We were definitely the louder vocally even with 3k less fans. Just very difficult to maintain any atmosphere there as it’s so big.

Once a Tiger always a Tiger, it isn't about how many games you are able to go to, or how much money you spend, its about the black and amber blood that flows through your veins.

So something disappeared out of my car, thought it was when I had it valeted..... just went to hoover the other halfs car... Look what I found. She's not a fan though... or so she says <laugh><laugh><laugh><laugh>

Isn't there another pub on the roundabout where Sutton Fields pub is? Whistling Goose?
To be honest, I think its more of an eatery, than a balls-out boozer. I'll head in the other direction...Corner of Greenwood Ave and Beverley Road. Into the Pilot. It's rough and ready in there, should be a good crowd in. Many of whom will be sh!tfaced by 4pm...Me included.

Hopefully, we'll have more than 100k on the streets today to welcome our heroes home.
