It is... They've spent half a billion on players in the last decade though.. (although earned most of that back by selling obviously), so due some sort of return on the investment.
Spending 9 of the last 11 seasons in the PL will allow them to do that though, and let them build foundations that can be further built on. Getting relegated after 1 or 2 years generally means everything unravels

Spending 9 of the last seasons in the PL for a club of that size was an achievement in itself. Though they did have a well off owner and now are owned by a Yank who owns a financial group with a lot of experience in running sports clubs. Their recruitment and selling on has been first class.

Serious question here

With var now penalising hair pulls

Is there a genuine advantage to having your players grow long hair?
Surely it is
Would a manager be a lunatic for wanting it?

Guessing hair extensions not allowed

So are balding players a thing of the past?

Then again, doesnt matter if you are bald on top

A long mullet will still work
Seems to me to be the opposite of when when we sold Gary Parker to Nottingham Forest. If I remember rightly Brian Clough said to him something along the lines of “get that bloody hair cut, you’re not playing for us looking like that!”
He looked weird with short hair!!

Sunderland have got europa league in their first season

Wow
They got their recruitment spot on last summer. Xhaka was a great signing for them as was Brobbey. Think they brought in about 10 or 11 new players, who seem to have gelled together. Shows what could be done and you have to find the balance between being loyal to the players who got you to the PL and realizing that the team who gets you up isn't going to be the same as the team that keeps you up.

Think there's only about 3/4 players left in the squad who were there last season.
