All true on the face of it.

But be totally honest, if this was a team like Newcastle, Villa or West Ham they'd never ever give sanctions this strong, regardless of how much influence Gibson has with the EFL
I think if we had a Cortese type we wouldn't have either - but we probably wouldn't have needed to in the first place.

Bizarrely, among all my football mates up in here in the North West the consensus is that we deserve sympathy for receiving an excessive punishment. Not condoning what happened, but no bad feeling towards the club.

Looked like at least the top voted BBC comments were saying that Boro did not deserve to be there. And rightly didn’t go up

**Unashamedly stolen from elsewhere**

Steve Gibson is believed to be “absolutely furious” that football matches are still being decided by goals rather than strongly worded letters, a format he is understood to favour.

A club insider said: “Steve’s always maintained that the true spirit of the game lies in governance, sub-committees, and ensuring other teams are punished as harshly as possible. To then go and lose to Hull, of all people, is frankly a betrayal of everything he stands for.”

Steve is already looking to brief local media and to ring his mates on the EFL board to get this result overturned as soon as possible. Legal action is on the cards against Hull City, Wembley stadium as well as Hull council for allowing a team to be based within the city boundary. He has informed the manager to get the players back in training tomorrow as the result will be overturned.

It was especially sweet that Boro conceded 5 mins into injury time ....even if they played another 11.

The litigation business was interesting because Hull had threatened Boro with the same if they lost today. I still think Boro will pursue either Saints or EFL for loss of time to prepare

Absolute nonsense as usual

What have Saints got to do with that? And you could easily argue that it was Hull who suffered most in terms of preparation. That’s a non-starter.

Loss of time to prepare for a game they shouldn’t have even been in but for an unprecedented and extremely harsh punishment? Hopefully that’s seen as a reach. It seems that very few people actually believe they should have been reinstated and it’s just that they needed a match to take place

I assume they will try but they are should count their lucky stars they got another attempt.

Was it just me or did the ref play far too much injury time. Hull scored on what, 94 mins out of 98.

They restarted play on 97 mins I think and the game ended about 4 mins later than it should have, or did I get me maths wrong?
