I think if we had a competent defence and didn't take it lightly we would have had a good chance of avoiding it too.

The 72 hours is such a stupid aspect of the rule. Ether ban spying or allow it. Don't say it's only wrong to do it within a certain time-frame.

I heard a number of ex-footballers talking about how we might have got an advantage on Boro in the event of the tie going to penalties. But that possibility was more than 72 hours away. Which helps show that the rule is tosh - and they were talking tosh.

Yeah. If we'd actually had any sort of football experience on the board it could well be different.
