he should have had a hattrick and set up two! He could be sooo much better that's what I find annoying about him. That said he took his goal like Pele!

The hoofed ball from defence to him and his instant control under his foot.

Outstanding but think he should stick to scoring goals like tonight and any further out he really should be passing to someone with a better shot but all in all he was immense!

sorry to piss on your chips, Sess has consistently underperformed this season, he needs three or four of these performances before I start creaming in my pants like some. Not one swallow does a summer make.

I know what you're saying. He flatters to deceive sometimes but 2nd half especially he was superb. Not totally convinced yet either but many more of these sorts of performances and I soon will be.

Overall though, I thought that was the best game I've seen Cattermole have in a Sunderland shirt to date, even with the customary booking and he got my shout for MOTM.

In an earlier thread I said I was frustrated with sess and people jumped on me thinking I was say he was a bad player. I wasn't I was waiting for this cos we could all see he had it. Wow wow wow I was terrified of his running with the ball in my living room. My brother was shouting at a couple of through balls he didn't play but in a complete reversal I was saying as hot as this let him go. Whatever you did said MON do more of it. Wonderful if he wants to play in goal let him, I will never doubt again!!!

Is MoN now thinking of Sess as a full blown, full time forward?

Yeah I thought that as well - Commentators on the stream I had said nothing about it but it was one of the best first touches of a ball I've seen in a long long time!

Comm when Sess has played under O'Neill he has just been given a free role - last night it looked like him and Richardson were give license behind Bendtner to move around the pitch as much as they wanted (although Ricco was quite disciplined in helping Bardsley as well) - but if it works then who's to say - Sessegnon's pace with the ball at his feet last night was fantastic for his goal - quick feet and can run with the ball - if we can get him more settled and to work on his finishing from further out then he will be one of the best players this club has seen for a long time

He did play well last night but, with commachio on this one he doesn't do it enough to get all starry eyed over him. If he continues to do this sort of thing and, learns to pass when a team mate is in a much better position then yes get the fireworks and fly past sorted. Also hope MON does not see him as a striker as that is what cost Bruce his job among other things.
All in all a good performance with the added bonus of 3 points away from home which for us are rarer than hens teeth. Only down side for me anyway was letting 2 poor goals in, defenders went to sleep and Westwood could have done better with both. Still think if that man was in charge we would have been beaten 3-2 instead of winning 2-3, so the MON effect is starting to take hold.
