We were 2 up and cruising then we go to sleep and it's 2-2 even missed one of their goals on the links. Still O'Neill saw that we were getting overran in the midfield and shored us up in the middle of the park. Vaughan was anonymous second half, brought on Colback and Larrson tired and was also brought off. (Not the panick of Steve Bruce throwing all his forwards on!) O'Neill addressed the problem, the lads got back on top in the middle of the park and we won the game. rightly so in my opinion. Do we finally have a manager who can affect a game real time, can read a game and see where the changes need to come. He did this with Maclean against Blackburn and his subs were spot on again tonight. Imagine how he could do with some forwards lol. OKAY I'm getting a little carried away..........It's just good to see.
mate your spot on im that used to **** subs i was like why the **** you putting two midfielders on?? haha gardner was supurb and very unlucky not to score there keeper made a couple really good saves... all in all it's what we expected and we got it thats 6 points in 3 games it feels weird
Just wish he'd been brought in sooner! we could have been 9 points better off. A couple of decent sigings in January and safety should be assured.
aye i reakon he has been quality this season!! first time he has had a full pre-season since he has been here he will only get better (i hope)
Fair play, Catts did well but still far too aggressive but ill let him off, stopped a few attacks in their tracks, couldnt believe he didnt get shown the red to be honest!
Catts did well tonight, I thought Ricco was quality and is looking better each game at the moment. Sess broke forward really well (silly card for him!) O'Shea managed not to punt the ball upfield with every touch. Bramble did well (great clear off the line) I think there is more to come from our team BUT for a stupid 10 minutes we were better than QPR. However we had a STUPID 10 minutes against Wolves, a stupid 10 minutes against west brom, a stupid 10 minutes against Wigan. Hopefully Martin can sort that out. We went right off the boil when the ref got injuried - is it concentration?
Results this last six games say it all really. Fulham (h) Wigan (h) Wolves (a) = 1 point. Blackburn (h) and QPR (a) = 6 points. Does anybody not see the difference? I've excluded Spurs because they're a different class to the other five. But even there, we weren't murdered - and we didn't quit (which is another big difference).
Massive thing the quitting part - Under Bruce I believe the heads would have hit the floor when the second goal went in and we'd have lost most likely (that coupled with the fact the Bruce didn't really know how to motivate the side or make the right changes at the right time!!) O'Neill is certainly looking the part so far - early days but you can see a difference in the players already
