The first bit rings true tbh.

Then we walked into the trap with our eyes closed, which is a bit ironic for a club full of spies
I highly doubt Middlesbrough FC decided to put in place a long running set up.

Our ex employee taking advantage of an opportunity to get one over us? Possible I guess.

Irrelevant anyway.

I find it unbelievable that he wouldn't know.

For one English to club to not tell him the rules whilst unlikely is plausible. For two different clubs to not inform him just seems far too remote a possibility.

Plus if junior staff were pushing back I'd imagine it being against the rules was why.
I do too, it doesn't seem possible, just clutching at straws to try to find an answer. Must admit I was in denial for a long time, just thought it was something to treat as a joke, I was very slow to realise how serious others were taking it. I am still not sure it isn't making a mountain out of a pimple...

I thought it was a bit of a joke too, sadly the club decided to use that line of thinking as their defence also!

I could see it being somewhat possible that the incompetence of Saints meant they didn't inform him. But the idea Barnsley didn't just 18 months after the Bielsa incident just seems too fanciful.

I think EFL should scrap the 72 day rule. There is already a lot of info about teams, tactics, videos, on the web etc. PL don’t have it, European teams don’t take much notice of spying - just a waste of time
Not wishing to be thought of as pedantic but I think you'll find it's 72 hours not days.

I know we are all fuming, and I don't expect this to happen in the slighest, but how would everyone feel if Tonda apologised and said the only way to make things right is on the pitch.

Then we start next season like we finished this one and are competing at top for automatics.

Would people still refuse to go to games, or if it looked like he was taking us up, would we forgive him as we ultimately got there anyway?

That would be my ideal future…once we get passed tomorrow  but suspect Tonda on way out.

Shame, as I liked Tonda…even if he was AI

He's getting a ban from the FA anyway but I think he should already be gone.

No he has to go. His position is completely untenable with the way he has behaved.

If it was only three games, and if he didn't bully anybody then yes I would accept the apology; because then, he's proven to be a good manager and we won't be able to appoint anybody better. But that's a lot of "If's" - I expect he's on the way out.

It's rather like the old days when the Company I worked for, always took the "look for a Person To Blame", rather than solving the problem, thankfully by the time I retired this had changed considerably.

Don’t want him anywhere near the club. Pissed off he is still here tbh.

It occurs to me that Middlesborough knew far more about us than they should have, perhaps they had been spying on us? Silly thought. they couldn't possibly be that dishonest could they?
