This really is something completely different but may interest anyone interested in birds of prey or maybe even keep the kids occupied...
I started watching a live web cam some years ago(during the erm pandemic). It's from a Loch up north of Fort William called Loch Arkaig, beautiful part of the Country(been there) and a renowned Osprey nesting site during the summer months, not that they normally get a lot of sun on their backs and the wind and rain can be horrendous at times!!!
These particular nests were set up some years ago by the 'Woodland Trust' who installed CCTV cameras on 2 man made nests and the footage is simply stunning at times. This year sees 2 pairs nesting and both females are sitting on eggs(the younger pair 1 egg and the established pair 3 eggs).
It can be a real battle of survival at times for them and it shows how difficult it can sometimes be to rear the young in the adverse Scottish weather.Eggs will hatch, chicks will fight for supremacy,Mum will call for food and father will bring back copious amounts of fish every day...
May sound boring to some and some may think I've started to lose my mind

But it really is worth a watch and if your kids do take to the webcam,be sure and tell them that these birds of prey have wingspans somewhere between 5-6 feet (The female being the larger) and can catch fish in the 3-4 lb region...
Anyway, anyone interested just Google 'Loch Arkaig Ospreys' and click on the 'Woodland Trust' link....
