I drove past a couple hours ago and there were loads of portaloos and what looked like a temporary ticket office out front. Any idea what they’re doing?

Dunno I didn't actually go down there, just checked the website.

SR may well be desperate to try and keep Tonda because he is good. They'll probably hope that somehow this will placate some fans, such is their incompetence. If the players are fuming though, they could just be creating a cauldron.

Interesting quote from this:

What could be more likely is a triggering of clause 11.1 in the standard contract for professional players in England, which states that a player can terminate their contract by 14 days’ notice in writing to the club if the club “shall be guilty of serious or persistent breach of the terms and conditions of this contract…”.

“A good player on a three-year contract who has a market value of £10m could make a strong argument to terminate their contract for what is called just cause,” says Chapman.

“Saying that your employer has cheated and denied you the chance to play in the biggest game in football is a pretty reasonable argument. That could put them in a position as a free agent where they can command a very good deal. Rather than try to sue them for a load of money and all the complexities of that, I wonder if we might see some players considering whether to just terminate and get a good signing-on fee elsewhere.”
I don't see that happening in a million years.

Arguably there's a case that without cheating we wouldn't have been in the play offs anyway, though I'm not sure the club should make that argument

The club said yesterday about accountability and determination to put things right.
Well, we’re all waiting.
You’d think that if there was a group of people that has just cost you a chance to go to the premier league for the pot of gold, the decision to terminate contracts for any of the, bringing the club into disrepute, sanctions that would be written into a contract, it would be pretty easy to get done straight away??

It will take time. They would need the FA findings and to follow procedures or they could be sued.

I mean, surely his contract can be terminated for gross misconduct regardless?

Probably. Could also mean that we haven’t been wholly truthful with the EFL. We saw that Bielsa took all the blame and got that fine so thought we’d do the exact same thing with Tonda saying it was all him, and maybe that wasn’t the case hence why he’s not gone yet.

Who knows, it obviously feels like a lot longer but it’s only been less than 48 hours since all the news broke, clearly a lot will be going on internally and the priority right now is probably the players.

Bielsa didn't get personally fined. Just chose to pay the club one.

Yeah I know, but he did take all the responsibility for it happening and maybe we tried to copy that hoping for a similar outcome with the fine.

Nobody knows at this stage. I can’t see a scenario where Tonda is here at the start of next season, but sacking him today, tomorrow or next week does not make a difference to me. Hope we have a new manager place in time for pre season, but that’s all I’m interested in really

Apart from Jim White, this is a decent discussion about the punishment dealt out.
I’m surprised that Simon Jordan thinks it’s disproportionate, as he’s been cheerleading for Gibson all week. The sporting financial and legal expert, Borson is also on the disproportionate side of the argument.
