After sleeping on it my verdict is still chuck out the stupid law that says spying is illegal.

How do you quantity the crime? How do you measure the advantage if any gained by spying?

Does this apply to those who watch programs like match of the day where expert analysts show over and over in slow motion set piece formations, tactics and player positioning.

But the spying rule WAS in place and Southampton blatantly broke it

I think the EFL came to the right decision in the end but took too long

The games got a long history of bribing and cheating. That said the two winners of any semi finals should walk out at Wembley and then let the powers that be decide the guilty party’s fate.

Just makes sense.

Of course it doesn't apply to publicly available footage and actual games of football. That's more than a bit of a strawman.

If Milwall had watched us prepare for the second leg and our distinct change in shape and beaten us you'd have been fine?

Southampton really wanted to push the timing, but they lied in their first admission. I don't think that it was enough for them to be expelled, if they just did it once and there was an intern acting on his own account (as said by them).

Will Salt had no real choice, he was put under pressure and did not want to do the Ipswich observation. There is far more to this. This thing about it being done in Europe is a distraction.

I attended 2 training sessions at a German club. Both advertised as public. The club even provided some concrete block seating. This was public viewing the day before a game. There was no need to spy, everything was out in the open. But that said, it was only one hour out of five. I did have meetings inside the training centre and from where I was parked it was fairly easy to watch the rest of the training. The players all signed shirts and gave away stuff to supporters stood outside.
