Someone needs to remind the disgruntled Southampton players that the only reason they were in the top six in the first place is because they were cheating - clearly they wouldn't have been anywhere near the top six if they hadn't been - so now claiming compensation because they got found out and might have got promoted if their cheating hadn't been discovered is absolutely laughable

Southampton's appeal argument seems to be along the lines of - "it's excessive to be denied what we were trying to gain by cheating"!
Örgryte IS vs IFK Göteborg thier first top flight Derby since 2009. The atmosphere in the Allsvenska is really good. Some wouldn't be able to complain.

The players didn't cheat though.. if you were a salesman and made record sales throughout the year and then lost out on a large bonus because of a management issue that you'd had no control or input over, you'd be pretty pissed off about it...
Ye that was the game. He's an IFK member/owner/shareholder. Atmosphere got pretty decent since they created the ultra style support, where a section of the stadium is handed over to them.. phones and food forbidden in an unwritten rule during the match if you stand in that section.
I dont know how important this is but of the top 6 clubs in the Championship we were well behind the others.

On a separate note, I’m going with someone who likes to collect programmes for significant games. Likelihood of them actually having any for Saturday given the opposition is not confirmed? Dunno the lead times for printing these things.

It would be hilarious if this appeal found in favour of the EFL on every point except this one. One of Southampton's arguments is apparently that Boro should not benefit. I wonder if the appeal hearing has the power simply to decide we should be promoted. Steve Gibson would be furious but impotent.
I reckon Boro are going to run out of steam at about 60 minutes. If you’re a Boro player 2 weeks ago your season ended. You start to indulge a bit. Have a few of the treats you’ve denied yourself all season. A few beers, a bit of unhealthy food, maybe even a bit of gear. Suddenly it’s back to training to shed the extra pounds and get your conditioning back. They’ll all be ****ed and look like Paddy Kenny. We’ll run them ragged. UTT.
Corresponded with him a couple of times this week and he's not great. His health issues are for him to disclose, not me. He sadly will be missing Wembley which he will be gutted about but I'm sure we all wish him a speedy recovery.

Well we never have a normal summer do we? Looks like this may be this summer's saga.
My take on it is if a trainer is giving his athlete aperformance enhancing banned substance, unbeknown to the athlete, and he wins his heat to go to the final- if it then discovered that he has drugs in his system, firstly he won't be allowed into the final and secondly I doubt he can sue for losses because he believes he would have won anyway but wasn't given the opportunity to do so - now he probably has a legal case about lost opportunity to appear in the final but I doubt very much he can claim he would have won anyway because the drugs didn't give him any advantage and was a waste of time
But reading some of the comments from Downes, you'd have to be a bit thick to think that you weren't party to inside information.
