Has the official Southampton statement been posted?

The terms arrogance and tone deaf spring to mind.

Everton's eventual six-point deduction in 2023/24 followed losses of £124.5 million, a figure dwarfed by what has been taken from Southampton in a single afternoon.

Wow.

Just wow.

If Eckert didnt think he was doing anything wrong, then why would they only spy on 3 teams?
This is the thing, whilst admitting they spied on 3 teams, I have seen no suggestion or confirmation that it was only 3 teams. It appears to me they have cherry picked 2 to admit too, in addition to the one they were reported for. If this is the case, why have they not stated clearly that they have not spied on any other teams? Surely that would be stated in any mitigation?
Exactly, the only team left with a legitimate claim of being in the final.

Why did Boro go ahead with playing in the semi final if they believe the integrity of the game was brought into question?

Ticket sales look to have hit the buffers a bit. There are still quite a few blocks to open towards the half way line if there is an increase in demand.

Maybe once the date and kick off time are confirmed we will shift a few more.

Why do we have a loyalty points system if we don’t use it in the same way?

Ours seems to be a loyalty points scheme for members only, ie to distinguish between levels of members, not for other supporters. As I’ve said several times, loyalty points for non-members are pretty much worthless. It needs reforming or clarifying.

Thinking about the actual match for a minute
while Southampton were the form team in the league, slightly concerning that Boro gave us our biggest hiding of the season at our place.
i do sort of prefer playing a team where its 1 win each though , i was uneasy thinking we had to beat a team for 3rd time in a row.
at same time would have taken a defeat to Southampton on chin, losing to Boro who probably shouldnt be there would be a bitter pill to swallow.

I think you've got to prepare yourself for an absolute onslaught from Boro to start with on Saturday - would favour three at the back and Belloumi on the bench to come on against hopefully tired legs.

Isn't that exactly why you wouldn't start him?

In the history of the single-match EFL Championship play-off finals played at a neutral venue (since 1990), approximately 84% of the matches have been won by the team that scores first.

This represents one of the highest "first-goal win percentages" in professional football, significantly eclipsing the standard regular-season average (which typically hovers around 69%).

Didn't we go 5 at the back away at Boro? Came away with 3 points. Played our usual 3 or 4 at the back at home and got spanked.
