Southampton have been thrown out of the Championship Final and replaced with Middlesborough. They will also had 4 points deducted at the start of next season. They have submitted an appeal and this will be dealt with tomorrow. Thoughts?
They cheated, and a lot of their fans thought it was funny and clever. **** ‘em. I feel sorry for the fans who were embarrassed and mortified by what their club has done, and quite a few have gone public on this. With only 4 days notice, I think that is extremely harsh on them and especially on their fans. They would have booked flights. hotels and match tickets to come to wembley from all around the world. I hope Hull beat Middlesborough after that even though I think Middlesborough were a far better team during the season.
4 point deduction for next season also, I believe. The crime doesnt meet the punishment in my opinion.
Surely they can't move the game, it would be so unfair to Hull fans. But the real fans have always been viewed as an irrelevance of no consequence.Rumour is that they may have to move the game from Saturday which will cost City fans a shed load of money in non refundable hotel costs. And if it does go ahead on Saturday I'm not sure how the Boro fans will get there as there can't be a Coach we haven't booked within an 80 mile radius of Hull or a seat on a train on the East Coast mainline. It doesn't help that we will both be travelling from the same part of the country. Not sure any TV pundit has mentioned the effect on City. We've been preparing to play Southampton and now we have a couple of days to prepare to play Boro. Whereas Boro have always known their opponent would be us. It's a farce

What about the fans of the clubs which didn’t cheat?Looks like I'm in the minority but I think it is disproportionately harsh - as ours was too.
How much advantage is actually gained? On Talksport, they said that the games they'd confessed to spying in, they'd lost!!
A hefty fine and maybe a more severe points deduction next season but this is too much for the fans.
