I hope they try for an injunction to stop the game Saturday.
Why did we do it multiple times then?I think it does show that filming some training sessions past the 72hr cut off point doesn't lead to tangible on-field advantages.
As mentioned earlier. There was no rule against spying when Leeds did it. They were fined £200k for essentially 'unsportsmanship". The official rule against spying was put in place after Leeds spygate.
Unfortunately you lot were the ones caught doing it and they've made an example out of you.
Not the fans fault but it's always us that shoulder the burden.
That and all the expense and time the fans had to endure also. I’m frantically going through my electrical smart meter to see how much I am going to sue them for the electricity for both games I watched on TV, plus wear and tear to the TV.Right. Imagine if a player had had a serious injury.
They clearly knew about the Oxford and Ipswich games and that the evidence was compelling which explains their confidence.
I get the anger but it’s pretty clear we must have been doing it for much of the season (suspect since Tonda came in). When Leeds did it there was no specific rule. Now there is. It seems harsh and over the top - it is - but there is only 1 party to blame in this…Leeds got a £200k fine for spying over a whole season.
This punishment is an absolute joke.
Not to mention Boro being reinstated is beyond a travesty. Lawfare does not win games. Neither does an iPhone from 300 yards
Exactly. There’s no chance of winning this on appeal. Complete waste of time IMO and will just make it look worse for us.Why did we do it multiple times then?
Matches are often settled by the tiniest of margins and if for example you know the exact set pieces a team is practicing then there's definitely a tangible advantage there.
I read somewhere that set pieces accounted for nearly 25% of all goals scored this season.
I’m done. 1956-26, 70 years and my grandsons make the 6th generation of Saints supporters in my family. I’m weirdly glad my predecessors are no longer with us to see all thus unfold. Personally if SMS is empty for the first match next season, I wouldn’t shed a tear.At the moment I am not. May change my mind over the next few weeks, but as it stands no season ticket for next year.

Assuming he knew and this punishment stands then I don't know how he can stay. He's been part of something that has potentially cost his employer £200 million. In that scenario he'll probably get some sort of ban from football anyway.People calling for Tonda to go really need to calm down.

He will be looking at a lengthy ban IMO. No two ways about, I reckon he’s gone.Assuming he knew and this punishment stands then I don't know how he can stay. No, I think the advantages might be small but there might be some. I mean they did it for a reason, m ore than once. It’s clearly a thing that we were doing over the season, they have chosen to fess up to games where we didn’t win to argue that there was no advantage. However we were unbeaten in nearly 20 games so we are basically saying spying cost us points. What nonsense.
EFL retain the right to expedite that in exceptional circumstances. And we had 14 days to respond to it. Should have refused to respond any earlier and longed it out until after we had played the final.
But surely we did spy on others. Maybe those were the ones we couldn't hide for some reason? Or else, what a bizarre choice to spy on Oxford.I imagine that the EFL are quite relieved that the other two clubs were Ipswich and Oxford. Neither of them will seek any sort of financial compensation, one assumes.
If it had been Millwall or Wrexham (or maybe even Derby), that would have been another can of worms.
I dread to think how many players will leave us, one way or another, this summer now.
I think we'll get the points reduced/removed.Exactly. There’s no chance of winning this on appeal. Complete waste of time IMO and will just make it look worse for us.
