Talking of Tottenham the board have announced they've signed Pep, Pepper Pig that is. A new range of shop items featuring the pink porker. Fans are naturally seriously pissed off with them facing the drop. I thought this might have been an April fool stunt but apparently not...
A fun activity if killing time at work is to find random senior employees behind the scenes at Spurs on LinkedIn and see the responses to their posts. Some bod working as a project manager pleased to have gained a qualification and a management consultant at Deloitte replies telling him to **** off and sign a striker.

Not sure this is that accurate. I’d be surprised if Derby’s wage bill is one of the lowest and Hull’s one of the highest. Wrexham sort of mid-table for wages feels off.

Barrie Drewitt-Barlow and his husband Scott took over Maldon and Tiptree FC in 2025
The owners of a football club have appeared in court charged with multiple offences including rape, sexual assault and modern slavery trafficking for sexual exploitation.

Barrie Drewitt-Barlow, 57, and his husband Scott, 32, of Southwood Chase, Danbury, allegedly targeted and groomed young males.

Essex Police arrested the pair on Wednesday and officers searched Maldon & Tiptree FC as part of their inquiries.

At Chelmsford Magistrates' Court, the defendants spoke only to confirm their dates of birth and address, and they were remanded in custody.

Defence barrister Oliver Snodin said the pair "strenuously denied" the allegations.

They are due to appear again at Chelmsford Crown Court on 5 June.

Scott Drewitt-Barlow has been charged with:

The court was told the alleged offences happened between 2013 and 2026.

Prosecutor Serena Berry said the pair owned businesses in Essex and abroad, and could be described as "celebrities, who live multi-million [pound] lifestyles".

"It is alleged they have both targeted young males, they have recruited them, they have befriended them, they have groomed them," she said.

"They have invited them to their home and other premises."

Police were seen carrying out inquiries at The Swan pub in Braintree on Wednesday
On Wednesday, a Rolls-Royce was loaded on to the back of a trailer and taken away from the Drewitt-Barlow Stadium in Maldon.

Police also searched the couple's home and The Swan pub in Braintree, owned by Barrie Drewitt-Barlow.

Barrie Drewitt-Barlow, a property developer, made headlines in 1999 when he and his partner at the time, Tony, became known as Britain's first gay fathers, having become parents through a surrogate mother.

He has since featured in reality TV shows including Rich House, Poor House and Below Deck Sailing Yacht.

In 2025, he and Scott Drewitt-Barlow finalised a deal to take over Maldon & Tiptree and oversaw their promotion to tier seven of the English football pyramid.

Some of the big names they brought in to the club include ex-West Ham and Ipswich striker Freddie Sears and former Manchester City and Ipswich player Kevin Horlock as manager.

David Stephen and Shaun Brown sponsored Scottish Premiership club Motherwell FC through their firm DX Home Improvements.

But the pair, both aged 30, were caught just before Christmas last year in a police operation targeting serious organised crime.

Stephen and Brown, from Hamilton in Lanarkshire, pleaded guilty at the High Court in Glasgow to a charge of directing others to commit a serious offence.

"Ted Lasso" star Cristo Fernández has become a professional football player, signing for USL Championship side El Paso Locomotive, the club announced on Tuesday.

Fernández, who portrayed fictional footballer Dani Rojas on the small screen, will now lace up his cleats for a real-life team after a two-month trial with El Paso.

Like the character on "Ted Lasso," Fernández is also a forward.

"Cristo is a great addition to our roster, adding another attacking threat," Locomotive coach Junior Gonzalez said.

"His passion for the game and leadership qualities for our locker room allow us to continue growing the positive culture we strive for as a club."

Fernández said: "Fútbol has always been a huge part of my life and identity, and no matter where life has taken me, the dream of competing professionally never truly left my heart.

"I'm incredibly grateful to El Paso Locomotive FC -- the club, coaches, staff, and especially my teammates -- for opening the doors and giving me the opportunity to compete from day one."

Before becoming an actor, Fernández played at youth level with Mexican side Tecos FC, but he walked away at 15 due to an injury.

At El Paso, he'll now seek to give an additional boost to the club, which is sitting in fourth place in the Western Conference, having registered four wins, two draws and three defeats.

Just bought this rather nice football jersey on Facebook Marketplace in size 4XL (fits nicely my 2XL figure) for the princely sum of C$15. Guy's dad had given it to him but he supports Liverpool.
