Edwards has one year left according to reports. He and Hughes were signed on for a 3 year project and both only see their role as the 3 years.
Interesting to see Alonso got a four year contract with Chelsea as manager, not coach. I suspect the system Liverpool are using with Hughes and Edwards combined with Slot as coach has failed badly, maybe all three need to go

FSG won't scrap that model. They tried to implement in the early days (Comolli) scrapped it but went back to later (Edwards and Klopp) and it worked. They don't like to be haha on so having the extra level between them and management works for them.

Anfield Agenda saying the decision has been made to ditch Slot...... from a 'top tier' source.

This guy has been right on other calls.

I've got absolutely no understanding why people on here have suddenly decided Alonso is the next big thing in management and only he could save us.

Must be the only manager to take a job get sacked in months and be regarded as better than he was before

Absolutely mystifying

In all honesty, the best thing he has going for him is that he's not Slot, but you could say that about Southgate, Bellamy, and Poch as well. :emoticon-0114-dull:

I think Alonso made a poor decision going to RM, with their managerial history. I think he's made another poor decision going to Chelsea
for the same reason. Maybe we've dodged a bullet? :emoticon-0138-think

Who is out there that people would want to replace Slot? Doesn't look like Enrique is realistic, being on the verge of a major new contract with PSG (would be too expensive to buy-out)

The Bournemouth manager, Andoni Iraola, is leaving and I don't think he has been seriously linked with any club in the Prem, and we do have Hughes who we took from Bournemouth(I think, but stand to be corrected). I think he would be a good choice has he has Prem experience and has done well with Bournemouth. As long as we do not go for another Dutch manager which would be more Slot type football.
