Leeds United welcome Brighton & Hove Albion to Elland Road for their last home game of the season, with much to celebrate. Daniel Farke's Leeds side sits in 14th position with 44 points, having navigated his wafer thin squad to safety with several games to go, but face a Brighton side harbouring European aspirations. Under the stewardship of Fabian Hürzeler, the Seagulls are flying high in seventh place with 53 points and harbouring realistic hopes of securing European football next season.
They heads into this fixture in resurgent form with five win, a draw and a loss from their last seven games demonstrating they are fully focused on the task in hand. The historical narrative between these two clubs favours Brighton in recent meetings, with the Seagulls having secured a comprehensive 3-0 victory when they last faced Leeds. Hürzeler has enjoyed success against Sunday's opponents, claiming victory in each of his previous encounters with the Yorkshire side, while Farke has found the going tough against Brighton's tactical approach, managing just one draw alongside three defeats in four previous meetings.
At Elland Road, however, Leeds hold a psychological edge, having claimed 11 wins from 25 matches against Brighton on home soil compared to just six victories for the visitors across the same period. The head-to-head record across all competitions remains remarkably tight, with Brighton holding a slim advantage of 20 wins to Leeds 18 from 52 previous meetings, but an injury crisis could have a detrimental effect on the Whites.
Leeds will be without Ilia Gruev, Gruev, Noah Okafor, Gabby Gudmundsson and Jayden Bogle and Pascal Struijk, whilst Facundo Buonanotte is ineligible to play against his parent club. If that was'nt bad enough Ethan Ampadu has the flu, and unlikely to play Brighton's injury list isn't much better, with Stéfanos Tzímas, Diego Gómez, and Adam Webster all ruled out through injury, while Kaoru Mitoma's hamstring problem represents a significant absence given his influence in the final third. Mats Wieffer's participation remains doubtful, leaving Hürzeler with considerable selection decisions to make before Sunday's fixture.
