Will Eddie Howe get Newcastle back into Europe

If he is still in the job come December I will be very surprised. He should be gone now

Club claims to be ambitious but doesn’t even set standards. We almost got into a relegation battle ffs. Europe should be the minimum given we have the 7th best everything, at worst, and the price of failure should be removal. It’s not even as if there’s any signs of improvement or enjoyable football. After that summit there’s been a smugness about Howe. Feels like he’s almost untouchable.

Tell that to Liverpool this year, Chelsea this year, Spurs the last 2 years, Man U ever since Fergie left, blah blah. The season's been crappy, but we have no right to say where we should be, and as the teams I just mentioned showed, no team has continuous unbroken success.

And we can literally still make Europe and we've never even been close to a relegation battle.

Tbf it was the happy clappers insisting we'd finish top 5 all season... Surely their expectations were too high.

Villa are miles ahead of us now. In Europe every year and about to win a European trophy. CP could do the same soon as well.

And we have Howe.........utterly depressing

It’s a lesson in the importance of exceptional management. Still, at least we get to train more. Villa won’t have that when they’re stuck in the stupid champions league with their stupid Europa league cup.

The new format has made it fairly easy to win.. Unfortunately Howe can't qualify for it.

****ing get rid and get rid tonight. Nobody playing for him, clueless formations, hapless game management and a disgusting season. Sunderland in the Europa and we’re in the 2nd round of the league cup having spent £250m. It’s so deeply embarrassing.

I think the club will change manager this summer

I don’t see how they can’t tbh. Top half of the table probably would have bought him a few months next season but this season has been a massive failure. Not sure I’ve seen a manager do as badly yet retain so much faith from fans, press and board before.

If he does go though he will go with all the credit due to him, he's got us back in to Europe’s top competition twice and won a cup! The only thing is he deserves a proper send off at SJP.
