Is there any precedent for us go to the EFL if we believe Boro have been briefing the media, and trying to influence an independent commission?

We've been charged with breaking a "fair play" rule towards another club, so I wonder if that could be seen as doing the same.

Obviously that would be hard to prove.

Anyone remember Newcastle cheating, by playing the covid excuse at the time and not playing us.
They got away with that one.

Don’t think that’s even close to being similar to this.

The thing that I’m hoping comes into play is other punishments the EFL have dished out over the years when teams are found guilty of things. Mainly FFP violations. No team has ever been kicked out of the competition as far as I’m aware and a points deduction is always the penalty, think it will be similar here.

I think it will be a lot larger than will feel justified, probably more than the Leicester one given this season, but it is what it is.

If there is concrete evidence that we’ve done it multiple times across the season then that changes things and we should be kicked out, but we won’t know that until Tuesday

The only time anything has happened in the play offs was Swindon being denied promotion after winning them years back. What they did was much more serious though.

Yeah, no, I'm definitely starting to fear the worst here after that statement.

Of course, its right that they have to plan for it to still happen right now, that literally means nothing right now.
It was such a stupid thing to do. What was actually learnt from it? Image from a mobile over 100m away would be rubbish. I am livid.

If this was done in other games too does this mean that Tonda is no longer the messiah?

I think that there could be a points deduction for every unfringement. I would also think that expulsion from the league may be a possibility if we are found to have spied throughout the season.
No way would that happen. The EFL were really stupid not to put a list of the potential punishment

I would suggest that with his history of being an analyst and he is known to micro manage the squad that it is highly likely that he had knowledge of the "operation". I reckon it was something trivial that they wanted to learn so it makes the risk seem absolutely crazy when you think of the revenue that could potentially be lost.
There is a internal club investigation and anyone found to be involved should either fall on their sword or be sacked, I don't want the good name of my club to be tarnished which is such a shame and I believe completey unnecessary, we have the squad to do well without the assistance of tiny details gained from observing the oppo illegally.
I said before that this could well be an accepted practise in other countries but you have to follow the rules here.

Didn’t Gibbo phone Simon Jordan whilst he was on air? Or has that been misconstrued? Because that is pretty easy to prove …

Nah, not having sack Tonda. Take our medicine on the chin and crack on.

Think a ban is coming for whoever is proven to be involved. Definitely the intern, and if they can prove instructions came from anyone else at the club as well then they will get one too.
