Lots of great points in the comments.
Players should play in best positions.
ELF should always, be central, Hume in back line and we need fox in box if dominating possession.
Regis has done superb but so did Clarke, Neil and others. Everyones times comes around. Best available man for every job.
Cirkin hardly kicks a ball yet Hume almost ever present. Last year 09 picked above Ballard
We should of won today against a much changed Utd. To score goals we need top class creative midfielders and or 2 strikers.
Our recruitment was excellent
Xhaka, Mukiele, Alderete and Roeffs so I dont think we have over achieved. Regis deserves another year but he needs to be braver as we now have the players.
As fans, start looking up and Not down.
Yes, Brighton, Bournemouth, Fulham, Brentford have had a few years head start but Sunderland should be challenging these teams every year.

Considering how long we played a man short (the entire game), I thought we were excellent!!

Those saying we need a player, proper striker alongside Brobbey, I’d like to know who we drop first this player?

Or are we hoping to play 12 next season? Le Fee, Talbi, Xhaka,Sadiki? All start! To play another striker, someone has to make way.

Superb performance, the difference with ELT in the middle and Talbi on the left is like night and day compared to Diarra and ELF. I'm certain we'd have had more points on the board if we'd done that more this season.

Mind, has there ever been a worse ref than Atwell? Might as well have had a man u shirt on.
He did
Underneath his blue shirt.

Thought we played better today than we have for a while just lacked that final ball/finish. We were back to being solid and difficult to beat though which has been the backbone of our season so that obviously does come with a price to pay in commiting too many players forward.

We struggle to get enough in the box which is something we need to look at but again it's catch 22 as that helps to keep us solid. I don't have the answers to this so thats why I'm not a coach I guess.

Finally was quite frustrating last 20 minutes as we seemed to lack any real urgency to go and win that game and Man Utd were there for the taking this afternoon. Would have liked to see Mayenda for Hume 20 minutes earlier and really go for the 3 points but I won't grumble to much it was a better performance and another point on the board against a team who have been flying lately.

Xhaka is just unbelievable! On the pitch, superb, but on BBC Radio Newcastle afterwards, the presenter said “been said we need more goals” Xhaka said “we have 48 points, and you have to remember where we’ve ccome from” and was just saying exactly what he needed to.

Mind, there are still some idiots wanting Le Bris sacked!! Wonder what he has to do?

Hate daft questions like that asked, the team know more than anyone of what’s needed.

If we can reach 50 points by the end of the season I’d be delighted.

First season back in the prem, not relegated, double over the mags, happy days

Just got home, cracking performance, we dominated Man Utd, how many times have we been able to say that ! 0-0 games usually are boring but that wasn’t, on another day we win that 3-0.
That ref was shocking, almost as bad as Zirkzee. Le Fee is looking a rolls Royce in the central position, loved his performance today. Thanks RTB
Enjoy your night everyone

Superb today. One of the best performances this season. Excellent intensity, excellent control, excellent defending, excellent.

Another day we win, but man, 48 points in our first season and seeing us play like that at the end of it against the top form and third placed team in the league..

In any case, we never win when Stuart Atwell is "refereeing" our games.

Interesting on talkSPORT. Durham on about how RLB rumoured to be away in the Summer. Mickey Gray asked if he's heard anything and apparently club may be looking else where for next season and MG has apparently heard that we're looking at Thomas Frank. Just whats been said.
Repeating rumours from the Internet. Micky Gray is about as well connected at SAFC these days as my cat.

An absolutely brilliant performance from the lads, totally deserved the 3 points but take a clean sheet against Man Utd and the money they've spent this season. I have to agree with @Magnus that is the best we've played home or away this season - Man U were chasing shadows at times and if they hadn't paid off Attwell beforehand we would've won that.

So proud of that team and that performance today - we're not a bad side!

Some of the quick 1 touch attacking play was brilliant. Unfortunate to to take all 3 points
