I said to the guys around me last night that Larin has an air of Pelle about him. Yes, he's big, strong, can hold the ball up but that belies a technical ability that is there which too easily is ignored. His scissor-kick attempt and his goal showcased that he is far more than a battering ram striker.

Not as handsome though according to Mrs Lincs.

I disagree, he's everything :emoticon-0115-inlov

I'm going to go as far to say he's been the best signing SR have made in the striker department.
TBF, that's a very low bar :emoticon-0102-bigsm

He does embody all those characteristics of a striker that we need. He puts in a shift, getting back to help win the ball back when needed which has been equally impressive.

He's been brilliant for us, exactly what we need and well surpassed everyone's expectations. Be interesting to see if he's the same player post world cup. Does he always bust a gut as much as he does for us or is it because he is trying to win his place in a home world cup for what will be his last opportunity?

Or with Super Cyle, could it be he himself saw a fresh start? Fans of previous clubs seem not to like him and/or he was playing in a system which didn't suit, so he wanted a fresh start and to impress? The world cup being an after thought?

I hope he's happy at Saints, scoring goals and being a fan favourite. I'd really like to keep him next season regardless of the league we're in.

Just need a top notch song for him now. Not a half arsed chant. Something decent to get a crowd going

Think Feyenoord fans were the most negative, but he really played hardly at all for them. Two starts and about a dozen sub appearances.

His scoring record in La Liga is about par with Che Adams' record in the Prem for us. Not brilliant, but not disastrous. A goal every 4 or 5 games basically. Not surprising he is making light work of the Championship really. I'd be offering him whatever he wants to sign permanently, whatever division we end up in next year.

Mixed feelings on this. One positive is that even if he's a bit crap I can at least see the logic in loaning a big, physical, hard-working striker.

Looking at his record and some of the other comments, my biggest concern would be if we end up with another Saganowski/Gabbiadini type situation where he comes in and scores 8 goals in his first 10 games, which means we agree to sign him permanently, and he then scores 2 in his next 40.
The numbers aren't exactly right but I basically still think this. Saganowski and Gabbiadini both began brilliantly and tailed off. Hopefully Larin's not the same.

And it was always on the wing. Didn't play to his strengths.

In fairness it is all about how you start too. He scored with his first touch for us.

Maybe things would have been different for Downs if he had scored rather than Jack v Wrexham on the opening day.
