It's as meaningless as any league game ever will be. We're 9th now, win 5-0 we finish 9th, lose 5-0 and it still requires results elsewhere to go against us to cause us to plummet down the table to 10th.

As a club we are constantly asking players to show loyalty to the club and stay an extra season, or continue to perform when the subject of transfer speculation, or to accept we can't pay the wages of other teams. It is very rare that the club have an opportunity to show loyalty to the player and put the players' interests above the club. It's helpful to demonstrate to players that the club will do that when deserved.

Kenny's played 3700+ minutes for us this season and missed just 6 mins of league football in 2026. It's arguably much more valuable to give Wright the minutes in the middle anyway. There's no reason to risk his world cup spot in our final game.
Couldn’t agree more with this. Wright has been very patient in a season that I am sure has not met his ambitions. He will have expected to have played a lot more and in his more recognised position. I’d like him to start alongside Mattsson, I thought they did well in the cup game as a partnership

So with 1 game remaining Hull, Derby & Wrexham are still in with a shot .

Who do we want to get the last spot ?
Derby - if only because of their recent recovery from financial chaos. Supplementary question - does anybody really think that any one of the three going up will not come straight back down?

Wrexham have the Hollywood blank check factor , but to be honest I'm sick of them & their media love in .

As they've never been in the Premier league & Hull & Derby have i begrudgingly want them to have a season of thumpings if they make it.

Saints Millwall Borough & Ipswich are all pretty strong this year .

I want Millwall & Southampton to go up

Yes, I can at least two of the current EPL teams struggling next season, obviously depending what managerial changes and investments they make over the summer - both northeast clubs - Barcodes & Sunderland - both have suffered a poor final third of the season, Magpies are still at risk of going down this season.

I'd expect Coventry to spend big and could see them staying up. As for the other Ipswich / Soton are much of a muchness depends on what the owners put in The rest I'd not risk hanging my hat on

If Wrexham don't go up there will be three Taff teams in championship next season.

The media will fawn all over Wrexham if they go up. There seems to be an agreement amongst journo's early in the season if a team is to be branded a "plucky battler" shaking things up in the PL or, like us, the temporary PL visitor that really should spend more money if they're serious about this league.
