Oh what a performance we put in against Man City. Gutting for all involved, shout out to all those who could go.

Attention immediately turns to securing 2nd place in the EFL Championship.

Beat Ipswich, we have final day drama.

Over to you, Tonda...

I only take that Craig Pawson is a **** for not dealing with the City time wasting in injury time.

And what a ****ing joke, Man City having to time waste in 7 minutes of injury time against a second tier club.

I didnt want Arsenal to win the league before yesterday, but **** it - I'd love it if they won it now. Just love it.

Im starting to be concerned we might not see the season out too well.

Crazy i know considering the run, but we have looked a tad ****ed in recent weeks. And yesterdays level wont help.

But until its mathematically impossible, i will believe 2nd is possible

Me too, possible but not probable.

Second is gone gents. Absolutely zero chance and Tuesday is just a game too far for the boys.

It's a real shame because I was hoping Preston would have meant something. It's now just a pointless treck up north for no reason. Depressing.

Yeah that's how I feel. Was hard getting up the ooomph to do the thread this morning.

I think our season is done, will get smoked in the playoffs. We peaked too soon.

Sadly that’s how I feel , but we will see .
I think Tuesday is important very important .
Can’t see us getting second , but this performance will show us where the teams heads are for the playoffs .

I am beginning to feel a bit sorry for a few on here, the fact is, that they will never be satisfied whatever happens, their constant negativity is starting to be treated as some kind of joke by others. If you can't enjoy a day out like yesterday, without the need for total success, there is something fundamentally wrong with your outlook in life...
In the seventy plus years that I have been following the Saints, the best days of my life have been watching the Saints win at Wembley, I may not get another one!

I'm not sure where you are getting this from. People feel deflated, and our run has to end somewhere and 2nd place is out of our hands.

I haven't seen anyone suggesting they didn't enjoy yesterday, on the contrary people seemed to have a great time.

I trust you had a fantastic time yesterday also :emoticon-0148-yes:

We were 21st having won 2 games in 13 when Still got sacked.

We've just had a FA cup semi final against one of the top teams in the world (however you feel about their financial shenanigans) and pushed them all the way, we're guaranteed a play off spot and have the team to win them but mathematically could still get autos, we've had one of the longest unbeaten runs in our history, the team is scoring from all over the squad and the match day threads have been shorter and less negative for some time - even LincolnSaint has been seemingly mellow...

Still lots to play for and still lots to be joyful about this season so whilst yesterday was probably a sucker punch after the late first goal going our way we can still have a really good end to it.

Deflated is definitely the right word. I'm not angry (for a change) nor pissed off about the result yesterday or even Tuesday. Just feel a little glum because I really really started to believe we'd get autos and win the cup <laugh>

If we win the play offs- cool, happy days. I just don't enjoy the nerves associated with them

^^Pretty much this.

I think being deflated can be disguised as negativity, but we all see things differently. I am a pretty much glass half full person most of the time. Pointing out where we have come from isn't a sign of accepting failure, but a sign of pointing out that things aren't as bad as they seem/look.

The day Will Still got sacked and Tonda was announced as the interim coach, even Mr Positive me would have thought any one needed to be sectioned if they suggested we would get to the Cup Semi and give it a go and be in the playoffs with 2 games to spare. And, although a long shot, 2nd is possible.

I am confident in this team and Tonda to pick themselves up from the loss. We see it as a disaster, but losing to an in form City 2-1 in the Cup Semi Final isnt. It really isnt.
