I think I'm more pissed off today. Anderson and Wood giving it the mag ****e. Totally dominated. Loose passes galore. What a **** Friday night.
I understand why we are playing out from the back. If Roefs launches it long all he has as a target to hit is Brobbey. He’s not great in the air either. So the likelihood is we’ll be handing possession straight back to the opposition almost every time. We do need to get better at playing through the press, the last couple of games have showed that teams have identified it as a weakness for us. That doesn’t mean it’s the wrong style of play for us. There’s still times when it should be launched but in general, I think we need to get better at it, not change it.WTF happened tonight is any ones guess.
Are they on the beach?
Are some players looking to not get injured as they will be playing in the world Cup.
Has RLB's team selection been wrong.
Has RLB's set up been wrong.
Is Le Fe wasted out in wide positions.
RLB has stated he is no Pep Guardiola so why is he sticking with this playing out from the back (I heard a supporter saying this on the radio).
Only Arsenal can recover it now.........and I am not even hopeful of that at the minute.Over reaction to say weekends ruined?![]()

Sorry but what? We have been very good at passing it out from the back most of the season. Got us some good goals over the years too (Reading and Huddersfield)Whoever invented passing it out from the back, I hope -
You always step in fresh dog poi
You pillow never has a cold side
That you car fails every MOT
That always get a speeding fine
That you always get the wrong takeaway order
Your pint is always flat
That you get bit by bat
That your plane leaves without you
That your smoke alarms always go off and you have no spare batteries
(Please keep this going)
How many times have we conceded from doing that.
It is madness. Every time I see this passing it around at the back **** it makes me nervous. It puts so much pressure on ourselves, because all the passing has to be perfect or you end up gifting the ball to the opposition in a position where it is highly likely that they can score a goal. Forest manager has obviously taken note of this and punished us. Needs to stop.Whoever invented passing it out from the back, I hope -

I think there are times where you need to be pragmatic. Early on it was clear that Forest were pressing use high and they were very good at it, yet we continued to play out from the back and invite pressure. In those situations there is no harm in going long for 10 mins just to take the pressure off, that 2nd goal was coming a mile off and to be fair we’ve been flirting with conceding like that for a while. Doesn’t mean there has to be an overhaul of the system, just adapt to the situation.Sorry but what? We have been very good at passing it out from the back most of the season. Or would you rather we play like Wimbledon in the 80s and simply hoof everything long?
We just need to get better at it, mate. Booting it long is almost certainly going to hand possession back to the opposition and put us under pressure, again.Sorry but what? Oh I agree. That was kind of my Point. I’m still too ****ing angry! 2 large glasses of whiskey when I got in didn’t help and didn’t erase the memory!I think there are times where you need to be pragmatic. As for going gung-ho with Ballard and Alderete up front in injury time, that was just naive
Agreed mate. At times we have been very good at it. Then other times (more than just yesterday) we haven’t! We’ve been lucky, as topcat says, that this hasn’t happened sooner. We just need to get better at it, mate. Booting it long is almost certainly going to hand possession back to the opposition and put us under pressure, again.
There’s times when they’ll be no free man so going long will be the best option but that’s very rare, if our movement and short passing gets up to scratch.
Some people are still stuck with the old mindset. Football has moved on.

Every time we do it I get nervous. It’s inviting pressure on the back 4.Sorry but what? We have been very good at passing it out from the back most of the season. Got us some good goals over the years too (Reading and Huddersfield)

We did against Bournemouth 1 and 2 down. Would you prefer a hoof upfield from every keeper interaction? Effectively gifting the ball back to the opponents? I’d rather we play football. What’s the point having Xhaka and Le Fee if you’re hoofing it over their heads?Every time we do it I get nervous. It’s inviting pressure on the back 4.
Fine to do it when you are 3/4/5 up and you have the luxury to do so.
Not when your are 1-0 down, at home to side battling to avoid relegation.
Last night Forest looked like the side battling for Europe not us.
IMO playing it from the back is stupid
Using O’Nien as the yardstick against the nags, when he was trying to go long (he was going over the top and slipped as he kicked it eyes never looked towards Xhaka) is a bit unfair. He dies that long pass well. Agree totally with what you say though, long ball versulonger pass to player in space. We dont even have to go long mate and hoof it, just pass it to someone further away than the edge of our own box lol... We saw it with Onien against the Mags aswell, i literally have my heart in my mouth everytime i see us do it.
