Match Preview;
So in our penultimate game of the season we host playoff chasing Derby County. This is only their second season back in The Championship after a two year stint in League One. Obviously, whenever we play Derby our minds automatically go back to 2014, and that moment at Wembley, but looking at their record in a bit more detail, I can't help to feel for their fans. The playoff final they lost to us was the first of four playoff's in six seasons for them, between 2014 and 2019...they lost twice in the final, and twice in the semi-final, before plunging down the league and being relegated in 2022. Interestingly though, their manager, John Eustace, chose to leave Blackburn for Derby in February 2025 because he felt Derby had better long term prospects. They currently sit 4 points off a playoff place, in 8th place...so it is a big ask for them to get in the top six this year. They've won 3 and lost 3 of their last 6. Their top scorer is Carlton Morris, with 12 goals, followed by Patrick Ageymang with 10...not that one, and no relation as far as I could see.

As for us, the only point of interest in this game is if Kone (9) or Burrell (10) will end up our top scorer this season. Surely neither can be thrilled with their record, with Burrell on 2.9 games per goal and Kone on 4.6 games per goal...also interesting to note Kolli's record is also 4.6, with Smyth on 5.6. Those stats definitely don't set the blood racing, and we'll need to up the number of goals scored if we'll do anything other than a mediocre finish (again), next year. We sit 13th, on 58 points, and have won 2, then drawn 2 then lost 2 in our last 6 games.

Enjoy if you'll make it to HQ for the final game of the season, I hope you find something to get excited about...I'm struggling!

Team news and manager comments to go up when on the official, and as always...

...COME ON YOU SUPER HOOPSA!!!

Was sure a couple of my go-to loanee heroes would come through. Surely Wayne Brown played nine games on loan for Derby in 2005 or Rhys Evans signed on a free before a career petering out in the lower leagues.

Oh Bobby Zamora! Let's mess up Derby's promotion ambitions (again). I guess if they win, and depending on other results, there is an outside chance they could squeeze into a playoff spot. Sorry for being so negative, but would have been nice if this game meant something to us.

Cheers Dave.

Definitively can’t be arsed for this one, but my ticket sold within an hour so somebody must be keen. Looks like it’s going to be a lovely day though.

Morning of the game, still on first page of the thread! Seems Sb’s enthusiasm is catching!
