I doubt it. Acceptance of his "philosophy of working" and the implications in terms of boundaries of control would have determined whether he took the job on or not.PC seems to have enlarged his role over time, as he pointed out back in February.

That might be the case on paper, but the reality looks different on the ground. He consistently refers to his role as 'manager' rather than 'Head Coach' and his comprehensive involvement underlines that, IMO.I doubt it. I agree with your conclusion, Robbie, but the fact remains that the position PC has is different to that JHT or Manning held."When you come into the club, you have your own philosophy of working, what you want to see in training, before training and after training. I want to be involved in everything. You have managers who only want to be involved in the sporting side or in the training, but I believe it's my responsibility to be responsible for everything that's involved in getting a performance out of a player. We've been busy with a lot of things inside the club , and I'm really happy with the reaction of everybody in the building , players and staff, to step into that story. I will try to push them to their best level to get the most out of everyone. That's my job to do, and that's also what I like. I know in the way of working if they follow, if they do that, that we will have success until their maximum capacity."
Nothing in that says or implies that Clement has "expanded his role" since he first put pen to paper. By his own account, Attanasio and Knapper spelt out to him what they saw as "the problems", and asked how he would resolve them. I don't believe that "his philosophy of working", with its broad remit, would not be absolutely central to his response. If Attanasio's and Knapper's reaction had been "we are appointing a head coach, not a manager", Clement would have walked away.
And needed to be IMO.I agree with your conclusion, Robbie, but the fact remains that the position PC has is different to that JHT or Manning held.
I'm not for a moment disputing that Rick. What I am interested in, though, are implications regarding a consequent shift in Knapper's role.I agree with your conclusion, Robbie, but the fact remains that the position PC has is different to that JHT or Manning held.
Not sure it's a change in role for Knapper, but perhaps Attanasio sees an opportunity for him to learn and develop through PC's experience and judgement. The rest of us are all learning, why not Knapper as well?I'm not for a moment disputing that Rick. What I am interested in, though, are implications regarding a consequent shift in Knapper's role.
Not impossible then! Charlton has a huge impact on standings, playing Ipswich, Hull and Swansea...a really interesting end to the EFL season. Nice to be dreaming of upward permutations instead of a relegation dog fight.Update on our narrow route to the play offs
We need two wins.
My estimate of chances: 25%
Then we need:
- Hull vs Charlton, need Charlton to win. My estimate of chance that will happen: 35%
- Wrexham play Coventry and Middlesbrough. We would need them to lose both. That feels possible but not all that likely. My estimate: 20%
- Unchanged: Derby are away to QPR and home to Sheffield United. We need them to get no more than four points. My estimate of chance that will happen: 88%
So combining all those chances, very approximate overall odds of making playoffs: 1.54%

So actually probably not much change from our prospects way back in October.
Opta has us at 0.84% after tonights games. Wrexham are 46.54% (if I'm reading the stas corrrectly) https://theanalyst.com/competition/english-championship/table
Watch him get sidelined for a big money signing next year and see how happy he isNunez really is a mentally deficient moron. He has disgraced himself, though not to scum fans, on their bus parade by saying fu.k off Norwich. The scrum and he are natural partners.
