Yes sorry about that. I posted it, went away then opened google to search something and it was still sitting in the draft view so I clicked post again and ended up with 2!

What I want to know is whether we have appointed (1) Paul Ford to the post of Sporting Director, or (2) David Ford to the post of Head of Football Operations, or (3) Paul Ford to the post of Head of Football Operations, or (4) David Ford to the post of Sporting Director, or (5) neither, or (6) both, or (7) do I have to subscribe to the Pink'Un to find out ............ :emoticon-0108-speec <laugh>

Even more confusing that it kept my original wording before the corrections. I’ve got my story straight now, hope that clears it up for you

It makes Millwall's run in looks easier than most of the other promotion chasers too. Though what it doesn't take into account is that some of those "lower difficulty" games might be against relegation battlers who you'd argue might be upping their game compared to mid-table'ers.

So far this season our away form is greater than our home form. So far at home, played 20, W8, D2, L10, 26 points, away W9, D5, L7, points 32. Under PC we have lost 3 of 13 home games, which in itself is not a good figure, but in the last six games we have won five, drawn one, showing a marked improvement as he has got to grips with the squad. And injuries. The last five away games are four wins, one loss.

Following on from the report in the Beeb about the periles of Chamoionship financing, with City making a loss of £20.7m during the 2024 - 2025 season, the club have announced further redundancies, as part of cost cutting / attempts to improve profitability.

Copied from EDP:
Norwich City is making redundancies as part of a restructuring to reduce operating costs.
The club has already posts redundant in its media, communications and marketing teams, and is understood to be making further cuts across other non-football departments.

The Canaries last played in the top-flight of English football four years ago and no longer receive parachute payments from the Premier League. These payments are designed to help clubs manage the drop in revenue when they are relegated to the Championship, but only last for three seasons. City dropped out of the division at the end of the 2021/22 season and have remained in the second tier ever since.

As of last year, Norwich City employed 408 people, including five directors, 208 football-related staff and 195 ‘other’ employees, according to its 2025 annual report. Many of these 'other' employees are believed to be part-time and casual staff working in matchday roles such as ticketing, retail and hospitality. The club did not reveal how many jobs are set to be lost. Norwich City said it has not made any significant changes to the size of its workforce since it was relegated from the Premier League four years ago.

However, like most businesses, it has seen its operating costs increase significantly in recent years due to rising taxes, energy and employment costs.
Sources inside the club say majority shareholder Mark Attanasio will continue investing in the club, but wants to make the business operate more efficiently.
Controversial plans to redevelop Carrow Road, which were postponed by the club's hierarchy after a fierce backlash from supporters, are one of the ways Attanasio had hoped to increase revenue. The plans, which have since been approved by the council despite being put on pause by the club, would see 3,000 season ticket holders in the lower River End relocated to make way for away fans, allowing for more corporate seating in the South Stand and the creation of a fan zone behind the Barclay. The idea is to increase revenue by getting more fans to spend their money at the ground before and after games, rather than drinking and dining at nearby pubs, bars and restaurants.

Another one for the stattos now that our season is basically over:

Only two teams have lost more matches in the Championship than we have.

'The 72' had an article today claiming that Josh Sargent has made a breakthrough start in Toronto with 1 goal and 2 assists in 4 matches. What they might also say is that his replacement here, Mo Touré, has scored 7 goals and made 3 assists in 4 starts and 4 sub appearances, having cost £18m pounds less. It's a matter of relativity.

Did Sarge ever score a hat trick for us? Mo has 2 already

The route to the play offs from here is very narrow, but still not entirely inconceivable:

We need three wins, no two ways about it.
My estimate of chances: 21%

Then we need:
- Hull vs Leicester and Charlton, to get two losses or a draw and a loss. Leicester theoretically could survive but they have to beat Hull this week or they are gone. Charlton are on the beach, so feels unlikely. My estimate of chance that will happen: 30%
- Wrexham play Oxford, Coventry and Middlesbrough. We would need them to do no better than one win or three draws. That actually feels moderately likely. My estimate of chance that will happen: 72%
- Derby are away to QPR and home to Sheffield United. We need them to get no more than four points. My estimate of chance that will happen: 88%

So combining all those chances, very approximate overall odds of making playoffs: 3.99%

What might be called a 'slim' chance. <laugh>

It is worth noting that the goal scored by Cordova yesterday was only the fifth scored by a defender for us in the entire season. Stacey, 2, Chrisene and Darling being the others. This must be improved next season, we need goal threats from all over.

PC seems to have enlarged his role over time, as he pointed out back in February.

"When you come into the club, you have your own philosophy of working, what you want to see in training,  before training and after training. I want to be involved in everything. You have managers who only want to be involved in the sporting side or in the training, but I believe it's my responsibility to be responsible for everything that's involved in getting a performance out of a player. We've been busy with a lot of things inside the club , and I'm really happy with the reaction of everybody in the building , players and staff, to step into that story. I will try to push them to their best level to get the most out of everyone. That's my job to do, and that's also what I like. I know in the way of working if they follow, if they do that, that we will have success until their maximum capacity."

The players are clearly responding to this comprehensive approach and it will be interesting to see how it develops during the pre-season he is already planning. Crnac and Topić will be like new players and Diallo and Mahovo can start again. Further recruitment of some quality players on key positions will also create an impact. The potential seems immense.
