Top scorers with 5 points each remembercolinlee, littleDinosaurLuke*, The Changing Man, BajanSpur*. Three failed to predict. Thanks to the rest of you for keeping up your predictions despite such a dreadful season, I do appreciate it. The league can still be exciting of course especially when most of us stop predicting Spurs to win. <laugh> BajanSpur* is closing on the top two as is remembercolinlee who is at the wrong end of the league thanks to Spurs complete lack of form. Next we welcome Brighton surely the DeZerbi factor will bring us a result??Any takers?

So you think you've got reason to be miserable because Spurs can't seem to win? Well, I share your pain, of course. But I have double the affliction: I am also a Gloucestershire supporter. And in this new cricket srason, they have lost both their County Championship matches by an innings. They have obtained just one bonus point for bowling, none for batting. But that one point was nullified by the penalty point subtracted for their slow over rate in one of the games. So they have NUL points. None at all. Nothing to show for their efforts. Nowt. The nearest team above them in the league have 16. Can anyone suggest a good tiddlywinks team to start supporting? In the meantime, here's David Whitfield with his Number 1 hit from 1953* to express the bewildering agonies of being a Spurs fan.

Answer me, Tottenham:
How we’re in this misbegotten jam,
Doubt if right now we’d beat Rotherham! -
Please answer me, Tottnam.

We were fine yesterday;
I believed success had come to stay.
Now Europa glory’s blown away -
Please answer me, Tottnam.

I know you’d exist without me
(I’ve tried not to care).
But I hope you’ll never doubt me:
I’ll always be right there.

See my scarf? White and blue!
Even if we’re in Division 2!
Even now I still have hope for you -
Please win for me, Tottnam!

I know you’d exist without me
etc
See my scarf? White and blue!
etc
Please win for me, Tottnam!

Prediction: Spurs 2 Brighton 1
Scorers: Richarlison, Porro
Cheer, Spurf! <cheers> <cheers>

* This version and Frankie Laine's version took turns to be at No 1. Eventually they tied for top spot - the only time that two versions of the same song have simultaneously shared No 1 status. The song originally had a religious character, as a prayer to "Oh my God", but this was banned by the BBC!!!!!!! The lyrics were then changed - very successfully!
