Last hit out was really just a practice match, 7-0 a silly score. There was a different feeling about things though in some ways. Firstly our left and right backs were very involved, Hato scored and Gusto looked like he was back in his running mode and really tore up his side of the pitch with some great crosses. Haven't seen that style since before Maresca, so for me that's a win. Lots more go forward from midfield too, though not a lot of resistance from opponents. Palmer looked a lot sharper, Neto had fun, our young Brazilian was terrific.
Just hoping we keep going that way against City, who we always seem to rattle, problem is they have found form lately.
Could be a turning point, will we turn up or will we downturn?

We look beyond help after that rout. Truly men against boys. City kept knocking us off the ball, tackled in pairs and pinched possession, and were bigger stronger and much better coached. Fancy anyone bringing on Delap and Garnacho when we are chasing 2 goals ???????
Until Clearlake clear off we're going to stay mid table.

Both had the same philosophy, fill your weak positions with top experienced players. That improves the Team, improves the younger players and allows the manager to be looking for wins, not trying just to avoid defeats.
Our owners do the opposite, no guesses which works and which doesn't.

The owners have promised wonders this summer, according to Liam <laugh>
This is their last chance with me. If we dont sign some decent centre backs and at least one good CM this summer then I am writing Chelsea off under this ownership.

Interesting that several players have gone backwards under this ownership too. Casiedo looks ordinary now, 4 months ago he was a diamond. Fofana looked a top player some time back, now also ordinary. Neto blows hot and cold but not better than when he arrived, Ditto Garnacho, Delap, Fernandez in my opinion has simply not adapted to PL, Palmer off the boil, though understandable.
Santos has improved, Reece James regained his form Joao Pedro better. Chalobah very consistently good, other CDs not improved.
That suggests to me two things, bad recruitment and planning and terrible Management.
All of it under the Owners. That's where the buck stops.

I dont see any sign of improvement for what is Tottenham this season could well be us next campaign; the FA cup run has been a mirage against weak opposition until reality bites when we hit the EPL. As far Im concerned the rot starts at the top and until that is resolved medicrity and championship football will be our destiny.

Not being overly dramatic, at all.

You’re sitting in 6th position and talking about relegation?

Not being over dramatic but when’s the last time we won an EPL game? The latest episode v Utd is just another case of the greasy pole or should I put on my rose-tinted glasses and pretend that all is well in the land of Blueco.

No it doesn’t look great for you, at the moment. Rosenior is already looking like a bad fit.

Still doesn’t mean you are anywhere near being a relegation threatened club. You’ll probably spend another few hundred million in the summer to bulk up the squad again.

Spurs finished 17th last season. They’ve been in decline a long time. You’re 6th and going through a bad spell. Your situations aren’t comparable.

I'm not worried about relegation per say, but that we continue to do the same thing over and over and expect a different outcome.
Oh for a better overall vision for the Club from the top down. No more massive spending on players just out of nappies, no more blocking new players over 25 years old. Fix the glaring problems by getting in a proper striker, find a replacement CD with some dynamism and power, get a midfielder who can play alongside Casiedo and drive the midfield. And get in a Manager who is what the word means.
We need experience now, not more potential.
We have looked like a bucket of pigs vomit for too long, surely even the genius Hedge Fund money makers can see their bottom line has flatlined??

You have been linked with this guy for a while now. So have Man Utd. He plays alongside Xhaka and he is genuine top class.

He's some player agree, but if he's smart he'll stay away from Chelsea. He plays like a version of Kante, ie he runs, that's not allowed at Chelsea, only walking and facing backwards watching the defenders play ping pong !

The whole of Chelsea is currently rotten.
We have an expensively assembled squad full of mediocre players, bar three or four really good ones (Chiefly Palmer, Caicedo, Estevao and Cucurella).
We have a manager who is WAAAAAY out of his depth and hasnt got a clue, who basically got the job through LinkdIn because he worked at another BlueCo club and they needed a stand in who wouldnt complain about the board, Maresca got too vocal so had to go, but Rosenior knows his place, he talks word salad and would never say anything to offend the BlueCo overlords.
Then there are the board/owners....inept, clueless, not at all worried about the club winning trophies, as long as we are making profit on players on stupidly long contracts, most of whom will never feature for Chelsea to any worthy degree.
This is our fourth season now under this ownership, isnt it? And we have yet, in all that time, to sign a decent striker or centre back. Just a bunch of kids with potential, over and over again.....
You simply wont keep the best players if you dont qualify for the CL and compete for silverware, its that simple.....do the owners understand this? Do they care? I am not sure they do!

Rosenior is very obviously not good enough to manage in the PL. He is not going to improve anything or anyone due to his lack of experience, which the players have sniffed out in 2 months. The players are not on board with either his tactics or set ups ,nor the Clubs' Project either. They know they will never succeed as a Team playing the way they are being coached. They know they will never succeed with the Clubs' Directors of Football NEVER addressing the glaring faults in their recruitment. The good players are fed up with the **** they are having to play, the young ones are not improving because there is no direction from the Manager nor input from experienced players in their positions. They are hung out to dry game after game and most are going backwards. One Marquee signing, Fernandez simply can't cut it in the PL especially with the Chelsea set up.
A change of Manager will make no difference this season, and only a top to bottom change in Policy will convince any proper Manager to join.
Only a fool or desperate Manager would want the job. There is no future for any Manager at this version of Chelsea.
Can't see necessary changes happening with Blue Co, they just don't care about the football, the players or the Club culture. Only the money.
Until that runs out, nothing much will change.

Thank ****.
The next manager may raise us up slightly, but we still wont be anywhere near challenging for major honours until the squad is sorted.
How in the **** can you spend the best part of 2 billion and still have a mediocre keeper, no good centre backs and no real striker? Liam Delap is certainly not it. Pedro can do a job there when he wants to but is seriously the best we can get?
