That's two difficult games where the stats indicate we may have been playing the better football but got O points out of a possible 6

The fact is we aren't good enough to be in the play offs

Question is, what do we need to get promotion next year?

Looks like our defense needs strengthening as we look vulnerable with our key defenders out

Right back?

I presume our back up GKs can't be much, otherwise they would be playng

How are we up front as regards pace

Must have a look at who is out of contract in the summer and who is under contract but ought to be sold

Will be interesting to see what we could be left with and whether we will be splashing out on top players to show intent

Next season could be a good one

Good questions Ron, Duff, like all managers, seems to like his own men so we could potentially see another load of changes again.

Goalkeeper - we don’t need 4. Norris has made mistakes but is actually 6th on number of clean sheets. There must be better out there, but only 3 needed with one of those on loan.

Right back - happy with Grimmer and Huggins, Skura can also play there if given a chance, we also still have Fin back.

Left back - Harvey is class, Allen as cover, maybe a youngster who can also go out on loan.

Centre backs - Casey and Hagel are first choice, Allen and Taylor are decent as back ups and Skura as well. Doubt we would get a better 3 to warm the bench.

Midfield - loads of options for the defensive 2, Morley, Henderson, Scowen, CBM

Wide attackers - Fred, Junior, Vidigal, Lowry (seems permanently dropped), James Tilley, James Berry. I’d expect Lowry (real shame) and both James to be gone so we need players here, Sam Bell was class when we had him but doubt we will get him back.

Number 10 - Mullins, Henderson and Woodrow (I assume we will sign) I’d love for us to get Humphrey’s from Ipswich in this position either on loan again or permanent.

Forwards - Woodrow and Fink. This is the obvious place we need improvement, Fink seems destined never to get a run in the team, Woodrow not a number 9. Maybe Lowe on a season loan. It depends how he ultimately wants to play, big man up front or pace up front.

I’ve probably missed loads of players and mainly gone with ours and not loan players.
If we kept our keeper, defence and midfield I think we would be around the playoffs again. To really improve and push for promotion we need better attacking players.

I doubt Jayden Stockley will stay at Port Vale, him signed permanently, with Lowe, Sam Bell (you never know with a new manager) and Humphrey’s on Loan and I’d be happy.

As you say Ron we are not a playoff side, we are a top ten side we are too inconsistent to be a playoff side, results at Cardiff & Bolton (for 80mins) shows how good we can be & losing 4-0 at Exeter shows how awful we can be

My morale tells me a lot. At one time it was really low (mainly because of Dodds). After a while of Duff I had this felling we were definitely heading for the play-offs, with a no fear feeling of who else was. I was feeling confident. Losing at home to Luton and collapsing against Bolton with 3 points "in the bag" was a big downer and at that point I found the odds for our top 6 finish were not attractive to say the least. I recall saying i wouldn't even be attracted at 10/1. I reached the stage where I was expecting to lose. I wasn't confident of beating Port Vale. Our top 6 odds are now 66/1 <yikes>

We have some good players now but, without our 2 key centre backs, we still struggle against half decent teams, especially with Norris apparently to blame for goals recently

I particularly like Harvey, Morley, Casey and Hagel

It would be interesting to see Junior, Vidigal, and Low progress and maybe one or 2 from the academy might come good

I love Fred but how long has he got left

I don't know much about Mullins, Henderson, Boy-Munce and Humphrey’s.

If we are going to get promoted next year, we really to get players above League 1 class who can be dedicated to Wycombe and play for each other. That will be difficult with our small fan base (and therefore small gate money)

It is essential that we can have our stadium bulging at the seams. But marketing is difficult if you have nothing to market

Norris seems prone to make one glaring mistake a game which has tended to cost us & usually from what I have seen it's early on.
Junior needs to build muscle & he's not as young as he looks, Fink is stll young for a centre forward he's only 23, the back four is as good as any in League 1, the midfield is pretty good as well. We certainly need forwards when you look at the Wanderers website we have 6 & 3 of those are on loan. Cam Stones will be another year older.

Jamie Jellis could leave Walsall for Wycombe this summer

We had 2 bids for him last year rejected but he is out of contract this summer so, unless he has a good offer from WAlsall, he might be attracted by a move to Wycombe as Aylesburty is his home town. However, Luton and MK Dons are also sniffing around

I have no idea how good he is but we do need players who could keep us in the Championship, should we get there. I suspect it will have to be via the play offs though, given those that don't make it from the play offs this year, those coming down and possibly a joker from League 2 again
