Widely reported that the Iranians deny any talks have taken place.
I know which version I would believe!
So do I. He couldn't tell reporters who in Iran he'd been talking to.
He made the announcement shortly before the markets opened and stocks rose while oil prices fell. When the Iranians issued their denial, the moves went back the other way. Trump, his family and his friends will have made a killing in the meantime.
Most people here believe it's just delaying tactics until the Marines arrive and he makes a play for small incursion in Hormuz to secure the Straits. No-one believes Iran will give up its nuclear ambitions or hand over the 400kg of enriched uranium

It makes the failure to proscribe the IRGC all the more ridiculous, Starmer is so in hock to his Muslim vote he's like a rabbit in the headlights. He still doesn't seem to accept they will all support the Greens...
Really thought he’d be far less of a drip than he has been. It’s an impossible job and I think far more difficult than it ever was in Blair or Cameron’s days but he’s just so meh. Disappointing but not as disappointing as the options we realistically have to come.
The marines will take Kharg Island, bomb the hell out of the mountain ridges overlooking the straits, strangle the ability of the IRGC and the Iranian government to react and force their surrender.. which will be signed on Kharg Island with Trump looking smug as ****. They've already decimated the Iranian naval and air force in the region, wiped out all the mining ships, sunk their submarines...once they have boots on the ground then it'll be a matter of time....just how long can the IRGC hang on is the question
