Sunderland travel to نيوكاسل يونايتد in the Premier League.
Last time out Sunderland lost at home to Brighton and نيوكاسل يونايتد won at Chelsea
Sunderland suffered a third straight home loss as Brighton won 1-0.
The Black Cats thought they had broken the deadlock as Chris Rigg slotted his shot past Bart Verbruggen but VAR intervened and Alderete was judged to have been offside in the build up. Yankuba Minteh scored the only goal of the game in bizarre fashion as the Gambia winger found the net from an incredibly tight angle in the 58th minute as his sliced cross from the byeline sneaked in past unsighted Black Cats goalkeeper Melker Ellborg at his near post.
Roefs, Mukiele and Reinildo are all expected to be fit, Enzo Le Fee could return after missing the Brighton game as a precaution. Nelson Angulo joins the injured list and is out for 4 to 6 weeks.

نيوكاسل يونايتد won 1-0 at Chelsea. Anthony Gordon’s goal in the 18th minute was enough to secure the 3 points.
The Saudi sponsored team will face Barcelona at the Camp Nou in midweek.
Miley and Tonali could return after injury/illness.

Regis le Bris:
“Dan had discomfort with his hamstring, so we hope it isn't too serious, we expect Enzo to be ready for the weekend, it might be possible.
'Nordi (Mukiele), Robin (Roefs) and Rei are in a good place, probably they will train next week, Rei 100 per cent, so it’s more about the weekend game for them. They are progressing well.'

21/4 نيوكاسل يونايتد 8/5 Draw 19/5

My two pence:
Given our form, I’m sure Sky will be expecting a walk over but I think this will be very similar to the first game. I think RLB could play 5 at the back and try to keep it tight.
I’m going for a 1-1 draw.
I might go to the Southwark Brewing Co at London Bridge to watch this one with my lad.

Brilliant thread title and write up @RTB

Think this will be a hard, battling draw. Get through the first 15 minutes and the scruffy twats will start getting on their teams backs.

Honestly believe the staff and RLB will have the lads fired up and ready to fight for the shirt all game.

Fully execpt a retaliation to the "Visitors" we did at ours, something like "SMB" or "Never been in Europe" as it would be something they would do

a slow start for us could be costly,

hopefully good news in RLBs presser

either 1-1 or 2-1

I'd feel a lot more confident if that ends up being the team/bench.
Hard to look past a home win here, but we do seem to revel in games where we are up against it. These mutants will be desperate to finally beat us, even though the game is no more important that Fulham at home in the cup.

Don't see us getting anything from this one. Think we've had our fun and are now finding our place in the grand scheme of things.
Sadly, agree about this fixture. Think we'll get a mixed bag of results between now and the end of the season and end up between 11th and 14th.

Still an outstanding achievement, and bucks the trend of teams going straight back down.

Hopefully Ballard is fit, I expect that Reinildo will come in at left back and it all depends how Mukiele is if he comes straight back also.

In midfield, it's a big ask but I feel that Rigg deserves another game after Brighton and for me Talbi drops down to the bench with Le Fee taking his place. I think the midfield battle will be key so I would like to go tight in there and then bring Talbi on, later in the game. I'll take a draw

My team would be

Roeffs (if fit)/Ellborg
Mukiele/Hume Ballard. Alderete. Reinildo

Xhaka
Diarra. Sadiki

Rigg. Brobbey. Le Fee

Not voting on this one, don't know how it'll go cos I don't know what players we'll have available. Full strength I could see us winding them up and then its down to whether the referee lets them get away with their normal cheating or not. If he stands up to them we win.
But, anything but full strength and with the referee on their side it could be bleak.

If all central midfielders available, definitely Enzo instead of Diarra as I could see him getting himself sent off in this one. Plus Rigg and Talbi showed enough in the last game to deserve consideration, Diarra didn't, he runs a lot but on the rare occasion he makes the correct decision his feet disagree.

I know what you mean about Diarra but he can be a big positive for us imo.

His style of play - bursting past players with the ball, getting into the box plenty - brings the side dynamism and an extra dimension. I'd argue that we especially need his willingness to get forward without Mukiele in the line-up. Mukiele was great for bombing down the right wing, unbalancing the opposition and making things happen.

Fantastic thread as usual RTB. Love the title -ingenious!

If Rei, Roefs, ELF and Nordi are back, I expect us to frustrate the **** out of them and be as tight as a ducks arse at the back. This side is a match for anyone, as we have already proved.
Alternatively, if we are missing 2 or 3 of those it might be a long afternoon. Either way, we can trust the lads to give 100% and that's all we can ask for. I certainly don't want us rushing people back. I'd prefer to end the season with a flourish and the best chance of that is with an almost fully fit squad to choose from.

We've drawn at Liverpool and beaten Chelsea, so there's no reason why we can't beat this shower. They've got to go gung ho because their gravy stained fans will demand it and that might just play into our hands. If this game is as dull as our first meeting, it'll do me fine.

I've gone for a draw, but if we take the lead, I can see us hanging on to it. HTL!!!!
