Why has Tommy Smith fallen so far down the pecking order?

I can't understand this one. Decent player who deserves a chance even if it is from the bench.

    Lacking in creativity.

Though you could label that at a number of players in the last two matches.....

Thought that when he bought hill on on sunday when we were 2-0 already, go with the extra attacker surely.

A lot of huff and puff from him as well although with the way our supposed creative players are playing at the moment, maybe Tommy should be given a shot.

He seems a smart player to me, quick in his head like, but he lacks physical presence and speed, and don't seem to score that many. Not really sure he's good enough for a mid table PL club! Shame if so, seems like a good guy from interviews I've seen with him.

So far down the pecking order because he isn't good enough.

Decent player and good to have in the squad as a bit of a utility man but not good enough for the starting XI especially in a 4-4-2 imo.

Smith is a real shapeshifter on the pitch and a great player respected by most and has already paid his wages this season ... He has to work four weeks to get one Barton week in ... ****ing outrageous I may have mentioned that maybe before

Barton. Hoping he raises his game tomorrow if only because he will want to endear himself to the Newcastle fans who he seems to care about more than us.
