Well I suppose that the draw means that both sets of supporters can enjoy their Christmas without having to put up with non-stop ribbing from the others.

For those at the game, do you think the draw was a fair result?

I wasn't at the game but the answer to you question is no, but I'll take it.

It felt us if we had lost instead of gaining a point once you had scored. Borne out by one of our fans claiming we had thrown away all three points!

You are right though, nobody's Christmas has been ruined by this result other than Rickie Lambert's who really, really wanted to win.

  3. I second St Godders' comments above.

However, in this season of good will it is honours shared and now we can all relax and enjoy Christmas.

Hope you enjoyed your holiday Dev.

I'll take the point away from home, but having been in front with minutes to go, it still feels like 2 points dropped. Christmas is saved though, cos at least we didn't lose.

Fair result in the end. We gave them too much respect, let them have the ball and control the first half hour. They knocked it around well and you can see why they are where they are. That being said, I thought we got in to them after the half hour mark and started to get forward and cause them problems. A little more of that after the restart and who knows- but it did'nt happen. Very disappointing second half and who would have guessed their goal coming from Fattie on the far post with a set play <doh>

All in all, relief all round for the home fans and an away point for the deckchairs, so most will be happy. It continues the Blues unbeaten run and the scummers have now 3 or 4 good sides right up their Jacksie. Let's see what the Chistmas period brings for both sides ...

To me the stripies looked more comfortable on the ball and seemed to read the game better, although we did give them a few scares before they scored. I think most of us of a blue pursuasion were relieved to get a draw after going behind. I predicted 1-1 - I should have put a bet on it!

Yes I do think it was a fair result - both sides only played in patches and as such neither deserved to win - Llallana? is a talent and Fox can play a bit - I was pleased that we worked hard through out and that Appy makes quick decisions re subs - nice to see decisiveness in that area. I think the stripes are a good side and it will be harder at their place particularly if we have had the cupboard laid bare in January. All in all though a happy xmas for both sides of the county.

Have to admit Devo that I predicted the score and result in our score prediction game. I didn't go and nor did I see it on TV except that is every now and then I would switch on just to see "how we were doing" I unfortunately did see your goal.....How much did you pay Guly by the way? Terrible, terrible defending, but as they say that is football. From the discussions and interviews most seem to think we should have buried you. The fact that we didn't just shows our weakness for lacking that killer punch. Hopefully by the time we meet again that weakness will be well and truly put to bed. I'm glad in a way that honours faired even, that way we don't have to listen to SB3 and your lot saying how lucky we were! Alternatively you guys taking stick because you lost the game. Somehow though when you come to St Mary's we will not be so generous.......<ok><laugh>

I watched the game from the Fratton End, and thought the first half was fifty fifty both team’s not at their best. In the second half I missed the first goal (call off nature) and the other team should have made the game safe but missed a sitter before Joel local boy Ward got the equaliser phew. In my opinion Lambert put in a lot of effort for them and gave our defence a good work-out but man of the match was Dave Kitson up front by himself working hard in midfield and helping out in defence at set plays.

A major fact not mentioned was that despite shouting and taunting, this fixture went off okay with no major incidents on or off the pitch. That surely is a cause for satisfaction.
