Some nice winners were put up yesterday. Sparky hit Raya Star at 12-1, Cliffy got Safran De Cotte 13-2 and GP hit Winter Garden at 9-2. A few points need to be made here. George and Zen tied on cash return, but Zen stayed up, but George dropped to L2. The tie breaker points system seperated them. (20 - 10) for placed runners. AJM and Oddy tied but AJM had a 2nd to Oddy's 3rd. In L3 Ches, Smokin and Blue failed to score and tied on points, so as none were going up, I just listed them alphabetically. L1 as usual didn't match L2 in returns. It seems that the top flight are becoming ultra conservative. After 3 players stayed up last week on the back of a 1.40 winner, it was as though a light was switched on. This week, heaps were into it. Special mention to Nass who stepped up at the last moment to replace Cats in the Singles Cup. No time to do himself justice, not having the advantage of regulars at this, he didn't shirk the job. You were extremely lucky Zen, you and George tied on 1.20 each, what saved you, was that you managed to hit a third from your four other 4 bets, while Georges were all unplaced.
Sounds a bit like last week when I survived because I managed to unearth the dark horse Oscar Whisky . . . ! Edit: I should add my condolences to George. I feel I am unworthy of my League 1 slot after two dire weeks!
You're there because you earned your spot and no body's been able to take you down. I think surviving will become more difficult in the future though, the nature of the comp will see the elite rise to the top, and spend most time there. It'll take a while, but I think I'll happen. That's why I relishing my short sojourn in L1.
He's only got 1 week to claim it though - then I'll be there! Or not based on my form in the first two weeks. But you never know!
in the last 2 weeks I've managed Oscar Whiskey and Big Bucks. I'm surprised I'm still allowed to enter the competition let alone be in league 2. I'm still living the dream for another week at least
