lots and lots of speculation, lots and lots of it.None of us know whats going to happen and thats the most frustrating thing of all,mr ashley could surprise us sell no one and buy a centre half from a cash strapped blackburn or could go the other way according to recent reports(yes i know dont believe what the papers say) tottenham fancy our keeper liverpool would like our best defender and chelsea/ man u would like our best defensive midfielder, its just the lack of communication i would rather be told santa isnt coming than getting up on christmas day getting an orange then looking out the window and seeing that little **** next door has got a new bike

Mike always does stuff that surprises everyone so there's not much use in speculating.
Saying that, here's some personal speculation on the linked players.

Krul: The only clubs who could afford him are Spurs, Liverpool, Man U, Man C, Chelsea and Arsenal; Man C & Arsenal have every faith in their young keepers, Man U won't shell out having splashed for De Gea, Chelsea have another few years in Cech so Spurs are the only real starters.
I can't see Friedel being dropped so Krul would be going to play second fiddle (with no Europe) therefore blowing his chance to get to euro 2012.
It could be a possible move, but I doubt it in January. Maybe when Friedel retires. Plus spurs are short on cash and want Adebayor.

Tiote: Again same list of clubs who could afford him; perhaps with the exception of Arsenal. Spurs are heavy in midfield (I would say a similar situation to Friedel but with Parker). Another season and then it may be more conceivable.
Chelsea are sorted for DM and really need more attacking options through the middle, something which Tiote won't offer, Man City don't need him, so Liverpool and Man U are left.
Would the owners of Liverpool be happy to shell out a further 20+ million after Hendo and Downing to essentially provide temporary cover to Lucas? Would Fergie pay 20+m in January for a player who will essentailly not be playable until March?
Man U probably need him more than any other team but I can't see it happening.

Collocini. This is the toughest one. Probably more accessible to more teams and I can see the pull for taking a transfer fee on him due to age and the contract stalemate, But as a gambler surely Mike can see the odds are hugely stacked against the team if he goes?
A Summer move is again more likely if he does go.
Incoming I think they know we need to make moves for a striker and defender as a minimum. The Maiga thing could be a genuine injury concern or an attempt to reduce the fee.
Seeing as the current injury crisis in defence has shown the risk of injury prone players perhaps they feel its too dangerous having three risk players in one position (Ba, Maiga and Ameobi).
They may have been offered a deal for someone better and needed to back out of a 7m deal with Maiga without being sued?

    That better Jacky?

It's simple and we will sell our best players and will replace them with cheaper ones. When will people realise ffs.

I don't think we are interested in Colo at all. We have a good pairing of Skrtel and Agger at the moment and Carra, Kelly, Coates and Wilson waiting at the sidelines. It wouldn't make sense to go for another defender no matter how good they may be.

If we sign a good CB & ST then I'll be delighted tbh, not expecting miracles.

I'm not even thinking about potential incomings anymore, just channeling all my energy into praying Collo and Tiote will be here come February!
