Hammond, Chaplow and Morgan are all good players and we are lucky to have them rotating them for the rest of the season can only be a good thing, and Gobern seems to be learning off the three of them.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Spider should have been MOM against Man U. He is quality and should start our home games IMO. Hammond is too negative and is better utilised on the poorer pitches away. Spider and Barnard transformed our team in the blink of an eye to how it should be.................quality passing with end product.
Sometimes you don't notice Hammond during the game, that is because he is quietly getting on with his job without fuss, I do get frustrated with him at times when his first ball is always backwards, when the best option may have been forwards, but as a Captain he is far better than KD when he has the armband, simply because he is in the middle of the action. Not a shining diamond but perfectly adequate for our present situation.
I've read many views here, some praising Hammond, some thinking he's downright bloody useless yet... Nigel makes him Captain. Must be a reason for it.
I was one of the ones who thought (wrongly) that hammond wouldn't cut it in this League He has been absolutely superb this season! so pleased for him and i admit i was wrong
technically he's not very good, his passing ability - isn't great, his tackling...... however what he does bring is a drive and determination to the team that no other player has. He isn't a natural footballer and this shows, however he has great passion and that is what makes him an important first team player.
I'm not a fan of Hammond. He gives the ball away a lot and his tactical awareness and positioning is poor. He also offers next to nothing going forward so really should be more defensive minded than he is.
Me too I thought he was going to be dreadful this season and was hoping Adkins would get rid .....nice to be proved wrong I know a lot people moan about his passing always being backwards or sideways but he keeps us ticking over just nicely.
I think he's a mid table Championship player. I saw an article saying Frimpong of Arsenal wanted to go out on loan in January. I would hope Saints would give that a look as I think he looks quality. Breaks up the play really well and can pass the ball
He wont come down to the Championship. Don't think he'll want to, and I'm not sure that Wenger will let him. I read this week that Wolves are leading the chase for him.
That's rich though after Wenger complaining about Adebayor being at Spurs on loan. He is plonker. I was just wishful thinking brendy
