Ggggggooooooaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaalllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That's not fair. You know how good Lambert is in the air, how many defenders can you name that can out-jump and out-muscle Lambert?
Thanks to ref as well. It was his decision to stop us taking it quickly, because the ball was still moving, that lead to that.
I have no confidence in Pompey's forwards at the moment. Kitson's been poor all game and Husklepp hasn't started well.
I'm thinking more of their positioning. You know that Lambert's going to be the target there, and you know he can beat most people in the air...might want to have a little more traffic in the area, rather than him man-marked in a tonne of space. There was scarcely another defender in the picture.
If you watch the goal Pearce was marking Lambert the whole way and lost out in the air. He was marked, he's just too good in the air. Ward's probably the only Pompey player who could challenge him and that's on jumping power, he would still be out-muscled by Lambert.
Yeah, I dunno...my feeling is that against Lambert, if you're relying on one player to keep him away from the ball on a free kick, you're in trouble. Unless he's sandwiched between a couple players, he's probably going to get to it.
