When Burns put it to NB that it would be his decision whether Andy Dawson would get a new contract, NB said : 'I hope so'. Playing a very canny game is young Mr Barmby.
Sounds to me that NB is waiting to see is AA will put his money where his mouth is in the transfer market before making any permanent moves.
I listen to him, and he speak a lot of sense, it show he can also read a game, and knows what to do to change things when they need changing. Really impressed with him so far.
i dont normally fall in love with the next new thaaang , but ive gotta say , so far im impressed with Barmby , his intervies are listenable , informative and sometimes he says exactly what WE think.
Liked it when he appeared early and said there were no injury problems. Also picked up no more yellow cards. Bring on Boro.
Very impressed with what he says and his demeanor. He's relaxed and doesn't act like he's worried that somebody is trying to catch him out.
He clearly hasn't spent his career with his eyes closed, and he seems more and more fitting to the role with every game. The Allams have said they will back him in the transfer window so the job is his to turn down
I detect from Burnsey's voice that he finds interviewing NB a refreshing change from the difficult job he had with NP.
Thought Barmby sounded good on the radio after the match. Me and my mates bumped into Burnsy and Swanny in the takeaway down George Street last night. Can't remember if i said owt to them though i was battered.
I think Barmby is a great talker - he sounds like he knows what he's talking about, he's confident yet humble and honest and finally he also doesn't buckle under the pressure. When he was put under the spotlight about Daws' contract I thought he replied very well.
I like the way Nick conducts himself in his interviews. He says it as it is, he doesn't try to tell us something that we haven't seen for ourselves, during the game. His self confidence is rising with every interview he gives. At least he is more interesting to listen to than boring Nige. By the way how did the ladyboys do yesterday?
Part of why nick can be more positive and come across better is because burnsy is totally different towards him than he was with our ex manager Pearson. Nick is growing in confidence because he is being allowed to be Will burnsy support him if we go on a bad run ?
Does it matter? Burnsy asked the questions that needed to be asked. If Burnsy asks awkward questions to Nick I'm sure Nick will deal with them well. Pearson was a good manager but very defensive when being interviewed. Nick doesn't seem to be worried about saying the right things. He's confident and straight forward. I don't see why people think that every question has to be answered. If I was a manager and I was asked a question which I didn't want the answer to be in the public domain I would simply say I didn't want to answer that question. If the interviewer asked "why?" I would say I didn't want to answer that question either! Wriggling around trying to act like you are answering a question when in fact you are not doesn't inspire confidence.
I think some of you are missing the point that Nicky is a Hull lad, he loves the club and the choice is his whether he takes it on board full time. He has vast experience at the top level and international experience too, the likes of NP had no affiliation to our club whatsoever, they were mere employees. Nick will have learnt from many of the top managers he worked with, and will be able to take from those guys what he feels he needs to be successful. He is a typical Hull lad in that he is grounded, honest, and has the Yorkshire trate to tell it as it is, long may it continue.
The problem is if a manager refuses to answer a question it immediately makes people think they're hiding something and assume the worst, rather than assuming there's a legitimate reason for not answering. You're better to try and come out with a half arsed answer that will shut some of the critics up even if it doesn't satisfy them all.
