I find myself with a strange feeling today, one not experienced for some time, a relaxed excitement. We go into today s game expecting little but looking forward to a number of firsts. MON's first away game. First team selection after having time with the players. First of a packed Christmas programme. I find myself looking forward to 2.10 when the team is announced, I expect little change but do expect change. I'm looking forward to seeing what affect, if any, a full week on the training pitch has had. What solution, if any MON has found to our season long goal scoring problems. I don't expect miracles, but at the same time I do. To come out of this weekend no worse than how we started will be fine by me, to improve on where we started would be fantastic.
Good thread there Syd, I think whatever happens today we have to give MON and the lads some time together. But one thing is for certain, I think we are on the up,fingers crossed. Dan
I'm hoping for a good game. A win would be great. Living on the south coast now I don't get to go to too many games so I'll hoping for a great Xmas, today and at QPR
This is a helluva tough first away game but all I ask is we give it our best and make sure Harry's boys know they have been in a game. I expect we will be beaten; I hope for a draw; and I dare not dream of any better. That said, Mon has brought renewed optimism so like Syd, I too look forward to tuning in later this afternoon at my local pub. Martin ONeill's red & white army.
im very confident of a win today but then again "i always am" but hey it's no disgrace losing to spurs
I enjoy matches like today, and I suspect the players will do as well. They can be relaxed, anything more than a loss is a huge bonus. Btw, are we on sky?
Today I will try a couple of pubs to watch the game, this will be with 'hope rather than expectation' of any result. Still I want to see how we play and who MoN picks to play.
The odds are not 8/1 for no reason... When the teams are anounced, compare each player in each position, to see how far we have to go...Can be achieved in time, after all Spurs have done it. Now we need a bit of quality rather than quantity. Which we are lacking in most areas..
Spurs managed it in 1 and a half seasons mate so it can be done with the right man in charge and the backing just hope we have that now, happy days ahead mate.
Certainly...but sometimes i sense a bit of over expectation in the new manager...He has a helluva task to sort this out.. But his cv shows he is a man of means, given the time and patience...which often runs short in the world of football..
A draw would be excellent. We'd still be 16th. but it would put us three points off the relegation places, and, with our goal difference, it's four points in effect.
Agree totally........some folk must realise that MON is just a very good manager and not a miracle worker.....I will be happy- ishh! if the team produces a good performance and shows signs of significant improvement......for this to happen a win a draw or a close defeat should be on the cards.............but i will try not to get to down in the dumps if we get a thrashing mon needs time and at the moment when spurs are playing to their best i dont think many teams can match them(especially at home) so fingers crossed!!!!!!!!
I have a feeling that we can come away with something today. Wigan and Swansea both managed to get a point yesterday , both playing against what should have been "superior" opponents.
