One of the better away days I have had was in their promotion season when they slaughtered us 6-0, we were on a shocking run and the protests were in full swing. We had less than 400 there for a Saturday game<yikes>.

Anyway, to get the ball rolling for an alternative thread for the likes of @TwoWrights and his chums, can you please tell me when Boothferry Halt was closed. I am also assuming it was used solely on matchdays. I went there twice and used either a taxi or a bus.

It closed in 1986 after the club and BR argued over who should pay a few thousand pounds for repairs. I've still got a couple of train tickets for the Hull Paragon to Boothferry Park run. It was used just or match days. :emoticon-0138-think

My first visit was in April '86, we drew in our promotion season.

A nice bit of memorabilia to have a train ticket:emoticon-0137-clapp

There's a better one than this from the mid 60's when Frank Bough (steady) visited, but I can't find it. The chairman here has just died, one of our better ones. Train halt from three minutes.

Have seen this, the good old days<cheers>.

Would you be considered the biggest game for Scunthorpe?
